Paper White OC-55

Why do I love this pale gray paint color? It’s light and airy without looking washed out. It feels crisp and clean on the walls without feeling cold.

In sunny rooms Paper White will have the very slightest hint of green. In north facing spaces, it will look slightly cooler (but not cold) with an airy feel.

On woodwork or doors pair with a clean white light Benjamin Moore Chantilly Lace. For accents look for smokey blue/grays, slate, weathered oak and brass hardware.

Does beige = boring?

Don’t forget that neutral walls are a great background for colorful artwork, furniture, fabrics or accessories.

One of my favorite shades? Manchester Tan. This sandy beige is dark enough to stand up in large rooms with a good natural light but not so dark that you can’t use it in smaller spaces as well.

Because of its golden glow, Manchester Tan is a great choice for north facing rooms to balance the cooler light.

For woodwork, choose a soft creamy like Benjamin Moore Simply White.

Love the color - hate the name.

Classic Gray is a beautiful and versatile paint color but the name is misleading.

It’s more of anwarm light gray but in most spaces it will actually read more taupe with a gray undertone than a true gray.

Classic Gray won’t feel too cold even in north facing rooms but really shines in west or south facing rooms where it will look more “greige” because of warmer natural light. It’s fresh and light without feeling drab.

For woodwork, trim, or doors, pair Classic Gray with a crisp white like Benjamin Moore Chantilly Lace or a softer, more taupe white shade like Cloud Cover.

In adjoining spaces like the bedroom, use a gentle blue/gray with a hint of green like Benjamin Moore Quiet Moments. It’s one of my favorites for creating relaxing spaces.

The kitchen is my favorite room in the house so I couldn’t have been more excited when I was asked to put together curated design board for a cozy cottage kitchen. Scroll down for my paint color picks!

CABINETS: Mount Saint Anne. A beautiful moody mixture of muted blue and green with a gray undertone. This paint color has a beautiful sea glass quality and adds a hint of color but still looks grown up.

WALLS: Benjamin Moore Ballet White. An incredibly versatile off white with a mixture of warm cream, a hint of gray and the slightest green flash.

TRIM: Benjamin Moore White Dove. A soft off white with a slightly creamy undertone and a hint of gray.

Why? This shade is more of a mixture of a mid tone blue and green with a hint of gray for softness.

Try Wedgewood Gray In the bedroom - especially south or west facing where the blue tones cool off the space in the evening and create an airy and calm atmosphere.

In the living room to create a cozy but airy space. Perfect for cool coastal or modern farmhouse vibe.

It’s also beautiful on an a front door or exterior shutters against warm white walls.

Pair Wedgewood Gray with a soft white like Benjamin Moore Swiss Coffee, moody shades of slate or blue/gray like Benjamin Moore Knoxville Gray, and pumpkin tones like Benjamin Moore Butterfor a splash of color.

This soft gray has a slight green/blue undertone perfect for creating a relaxing space.

It looks beautiful with any wood tone. For fabrics, bedding or accessories pair with soft blush, linen, creamy white or warm charcoal and buttery brown leathers.

TIP: In north facing rooms this color will appear more gray and cooler with a more pronounced blue hue so try a sample to make sure it doesn’t feel too cold.

Boothbay Gray is a beautiful shade of mid-tone gray with a blue/green undertone that reminds me of sea glass.

In north facing rooms, the cooler blue tones will shine through while in southern and western facing rooms Boothbay Gray will lean slightly into a smokey green.

Pair with shades of linen, taupe, charcoal and accent with slate or teal. For woodwork and trim, try a crisp white like Benjamin Moore Chantilly Lace or a slightly softer shade like Steam (one of my favorites!). Accent with hardware and lighting in brass or bronze.
