Happy Sunday Everyone! After much thought, discussion, and careful observation of current trends, it is with heavy hearts that we must announce the postponement of our Grand Opening event. With the recent spike in Covid-19 cases in the DC area, we feel it would be irresponsible, and simply unsafe for us to continue as planned. We look forward to putting on an excellent event where you all feel safe to have fun, and mingle with all the creative people that the DMV has to offer. As of now, we are still open for business while following all CDC recommended sanitation and safety precautions. We look forward to working with you all over these winter months while doing our part to maintain a safe environment for everyone to create in.
The DMV is full of talented student musicians, always looking to learn, which is why we've teamed up with to ensure our community has access to professional instruction and certifications, in and after school, that prepare them for university and industry standards.

We're almost finished wrapping the bass traps and acoustic panels! It sounds amazing in the live room now; come out to our Halloween costume party on October 30 to hear the difference 🔊
Over the last two days we got to assist maker Doug in setting up for a local art show at the Dulles Expo Center 🤝 Along with displaying his creatively up-cycled jewelry, we worked with Doug to set up a booth, stain wood, arrange lighting, and learned more about interacting with other artists 💍 Here at XRJ Foundation we strive for inclusion and providing a welcoming environment for our art community, so being able to tap in directly to artists and their needs was a big help!

This morning we installed acoustic panels at Metro Eyes Ophthalmology and Optometry in Vienna 🤝 After installation, music in the waiting room could be heard crystal clear, and staff could interact with customers without overlap! It was a pleasure working with everyone to make the rooms sound exactly as intended, and we look forward to helping create more inviting spaces moving forward!

We'd like to take the opportunity to answer some questions we've been getting about the courses XRJ Foundation has to offer. While many of you may know us through our studio services and live events, XRJ also offers a wide range of educational opportunities outside of sound production and engineering!
Our goal, as a community hub, is to provide a full range of STEAM education and resources so that our students can develop multiple interchangeable skills. Only with a versatile knowledge background can students truly gain the financial and creative freedom necessary to build projects they're truly passionate about!
Our courses also cover: software design, extended reality development, artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, machine learning (ML), intensive permaculture (IP), renewable energy, and 3D printing technology

Climate change has become an ever present international threat as a result of, for one, unsustainable carbon emission practices across all industries. With the rise of automation, artificial intelligence such as the FarmBot offers new alternatives to the harmful market posed by commercial agriculture and its supply chain. At XRJ Foundation, we’re passionate about developing, distributing, and educating about this technology to the communities who need it most.
At face value, farmers burn fossil fuels in an attempt to reap vast harvests at minimal cost in order to meet unrealistic budget requirements for the season. Then, more fossil fuels are burned in order to transport the harvest between countless middle-men before arriving in grocery stores and our tables.
The ERS/USDA has determined the carbon cost of current farming methods alone to average at 2.8g CO2/calorie. In comparison, even if a Farmbot user did not source clean energy, they would be able to harvest at a carbon cost of 2.05g CO2/calorie; a 25-30% reduction in carbon emissions!
But truly much of the beauty lies in our ability to eliminate fossil fuels entirely. Due to its relatively low maintenance cost and stationary nature, Farmbot allows for the localization of farming in communities, cutting out the middle-men required to transport a harvest for commercial use. Farmbot is also highly compatible with alternative energy sources such as solar power, further benefiting communities over time, and eliminating their carbon footprints dramatically.
By putting agriculture back in the hands of community members, we take a stand against the massive carbon footprints and costs they endure at the behest of corporate supply chains, who now control every aspect of the nutrients and environment we depend on for survival.

XRJ Foundation relies on Oculus’ Quest 2 for teaching and designing extended reality courses, and live demonstrations!
As Oculus' most advanced all-in-one VR system it features a wireless headset and hand controllers and 6GB storage.
A 360° digital world will render in nearly 4k resolution within the headset using a single LCD panel and built in IPD.
Improvements in resolution and frame rate will be supported by the Oculus Link's PC compatibility, no longer in beta, and launched in full with the Quest 2.
Arguably the greatest improvement marked by the Quest 2 is its processing power running the more powerful 5G compatible Snapdragon XR2 chip.
These boosts allow developers to drive high screen resolutions at 90 frames per second and 90Hz refresh rates alongside eye tracking, voice recognition, and passthrough camera capabilities.
To top it all off, the Quest 2's improved touch controllers offer greater accuracy, more efficient tracking, and approximately four times the battery life so we can do more teaching and designing than ever!

At XRJ Foundation we believe in giving back to our community! That's why we decided to start by teaching students at the schools we were brought up in. This school year our Fairfax alumni partnered with FCPS teachers to bring the latest music and computer technology to the county's 11th and 12th grade MCT program. Students learned skills and concepts accredited by colleges and modern professional composers to give them a head start in their pursuit of higher education and career training. We look forward to expanding pur efforts with local music and technology programs this upcoming school year!

Everyone keeps asking what we mean by "Smart" or "Robotic" farming. XRJ Foundation we use an open-source platform called Farmbot which allows us to teach coding, engineering, and systems development. By adding functionality and engineering new tools for Farmbot, students are able to solve real problems and gain hands-on experience. XRJ Foundation is working with local schools and community centers to pilot a program that will install a network of Farmbots to assist in providing local communities and those in need with the means to source their own produce. Just one Farmbot Genesis XL can feed a family of four for up to a year!
