Wild Weather last night
UPDATE on Friday at 6:30 AM:
DREMC crews have made tremendous progress overnight, reducing outages numbers down to 170 members without power this morning. As the storm moved across our area, it left widespread outages and damage in nearly all of the counties DREMC serves. Lightning and fallen trees caused most of the damage to equipment and trees and high winds broke five poles in various locations.
The photo of the broken pole shared in this post is from Culleoka. This is the type of damage crews face during restoration efforts. Repairs take time to complete safely.
Crews and electric contractors worked through the night and will continue working today to replace the remaining damaged poles and make other repairs to restore power to all members.
Much appreciation goes to the linemen, contractors, emergency responders, and all who support them behind the scene. Theyβve accomplished so much, working long hours in hazardous conditions, and we are grateful!
We also appreciate the patience and kind words that our members have shared with us. Your support means so much when the DREMC team faces outages such as this.
Well done, everyone!
