The Old Opera House's 19th Annual New Voice Play Festival came to a close yesterday. The weekend was full of exciting new plays by some very gifted playwrights and performed by some very talented actors. Here are the weekend results:
Winning the Golden Curtain Award (1st place) was the play YARD SALE (2019) written by Charlie Perkins (Charles Town) and directed by Jennifer Donnelly George. This warm-hearted play featured Sheree Cipicchio, “Geronimo Miranda Caitlyn Caitlin Lebetz Mitchell, Kevin Udy, and Katie Wilson
Winning the Silver Stage (2nd place) was a play that told the naked truth, WHEN ALL IS REVEALED by Carl Williams (Houston, TX), directed by Meaghan Barry Whitney, and featuring Thomas Bricker, Autumn Cathleen Carver, Glenn Frail and Donna Hamstead.
Winning one of the two Spotlight Awards (3rd place) was the chilling comedy FROZEN IN TIME by Mike Sockol (Holmdel, NJ) and directed by Gilbert Z, and featuring Jeff Elkins, Richard Hamstead, Dominic Massimino, Kelly Pannill and Linda Romero.
Winning the second Spotlight Award was the hard-hitting drama TEMPTING THE HAND OF FATE by Chuck Smith (Woodbridge, VA) and directed by Valorie Phillips, featuring Charles R Boyce, Liz McCormick, and Elizabeth Egan
