The pastor says they sit front and center.
The gay boys. Sometimes they hold hands. And some folks have said he should address the issue. But the pastor tells me he doesn’t know what to say.
There is the couple who are pregnant and not married. Walks in shame as her father a “Man of God”, physically slaps her legs while she is having morning sickness and the Boyfriend who is not wanting to marry her. But the pastor tells me he doesn’t know what to say.
And then there’s the man who sneaks in the back door. Fresh off the street. After the service starts. And leaves before altar call. The people sitting close complain about how bad he smells. Of beer and smoke and sweat. But the pastor tells me he doesn’t know what to say.
And then there’s the young mama who wears dirty clothes and lets her four children come in and eat all the donuts and drink all the watered-down juice. Some church staff say they “…eat like little pigs. Like they haven’t eaten in weeks.” While the Mama just stands there and lets them. And the elders say something must be done and said. But the pastor tells me he doesn’t know what to say.
And there’s the w***e sitting among the faithful. And everybody knows her. She sits with a painted-up face, cheap perfume, and a broken heart. And those who sit close, well, they all treat her for what they think she is. And at the last staff meeting, her name came up. Something must be done about her. But the pastor tells me he doesn’t know what to say.
The pastor is a good man. Holy and just. And he wants to do the “right and loving” thing. And he wants to “look like Jesus”. And he asks me if I have any thoughts on anything he could say.
Yes, sweet Pastor. I do. Start with this and say it Louder than any other words:
“Welcome to Church. This is a place of love and hope and safety and forgiveness. There will be food for the hungry. Living water for the thirsty. We are so glad you are here. You are invited. You are loved. Come on in—we’ve been waiting on you. Welcome here. We are the church.”
Say that. To the called and to the called-out. To the leaders and the greeters. To the dirty and the clean. We are all the same. We are.
May we blow the dust of religion out of our souls and choose affection instead. May our words and actions and reactions be a sanctuary for all.
Jesus broke many legalistic traditions, to love. So, Jesus, be our voice. Be the only words we should ever speak. I believe this with all my heart.

ALLOW EVERYONE TO COME TO JESUS SO THEY CAN ACCEPT HIS GIFT OF SALVATION, REPENT AND LIVE THE LIFE GOD WANTS FOR THEM ✝️

Years ago we were kinder. Everybody looked out for one another. We need to go back to that. It takes us all. We gotta do better at looking out for each other instead of breaking each other down. ❤️💟✝️🩷❤️‍🔥

Jesus Calling: August 26th

Trust Me in the midst of a messy day. Your inner calm--your Peace in My Presence--need not be shaken by what is going on around you.
Though you live in this temporal world, your innermost being is rooted and grounded in eternity. When you start to feel stressed, detach yourself from the disturbances around you. Instead of desperately striving to maintain order and control in your little world, relax and remember that circumstances cannot touch My Peace.
Seek My Face, and I will share My mind with you, opening your eyes to see things from My perspective. Do not let your heart be troubled, and do not be afraid. The Peace I give is sufficient for you.

RELATED BIBLE SCRIPTURE:

John 16:33 (NLT)
33 I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”

Additional insight regarding John 16:33: Jesus summed up all he had told them this night, tying together themes from John 14:27-29; John 16:1-4; and John 16:9-11. With these words he told his disciples to take courage.

In spite of the inevitable struggles they would face, they would not be alone. Jesus does not abandon us to our struggles either. If we remember that the ultimate victory has already been won, we can claim the peace of Christ in the most troublesome time.

Psalm 105:4 (NLT)
4 Search for the Lord and for his strength;
continually seek him.

Additional insight regarding Psalm 105:4-5: If God seems far away, persist in your search for him. God rewards those who sincerely look for him (Hebrews 11:6). Jesus promised "Every who seeks, finds" (Matthew 7:8).

The writer suggested a valuable way to find God - become familiar with the way he has helped his people in the past. The Bible records the history of God's people. In searching its pages we will discover a loving God who is waiting for us to find him.

John 14:27 (NLT)
27 “I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.

Additional insight regarding John 14:27: The end result of the Holy Spirit's work in our lives is deep and lasting peace. Unlike worldly peace, which is usually defined as the absence of conflict, this peace is confident assurance in any circumstance; with Christ's peace, we have no need to fear the present or the future. Sin, fear, uncertainty, doubt and numerous other forces are at war within us.

The peace of God moves into our hearts and lives to restrain these hostile forces and offer comfort in place of conflict. Jesus says he will give us that peace if we are willing to accept it from him.

If your life is full of stress, allow the Holy Spirit to fill you with Christ's peace
see Philippians 4:6 for more on how to experience God's peace.”

Question to New Christian Chatbot: Do good people have a chance of heaven

New Christian Chatbot: Yes, good people do have a chance of heaven. In New Christian teachings, entering heaven is not determined solely by one’s outward actions or being “good” in a worldly sense, but by the quality of one’s love and intentions—whether these are in harmony with Divine truth and goodness.

In the Bible, Jesus speaks of eternal life given to those who do good, such as in Matthew 25, where the parable of the sheep and goats teaches about the importance of loving one’s neighbor through acts of kindness (Matthew 25:34-40). However, New Christian doctrine clarifies that true goodness is good when it is done from love to the Lord and love toward the neighbor, not just for personal gain or reputation.

Swedenborg’s Writings explain that everyone who lives a life of goodwill according to their faith—whether Christian or not—can be accepted into heaven, because the Lord’s mercy reaches all who sincerely seek to live a good life according to their understanding (Heaven and Hell 318, 319). In essence, it is the inward life—the loves, intentions, and acknowledgment of God—that is decisive. Doing good because it originates from love of what is true and good aligns a person with heaven (Heaven and Hell 30, 528).

So, being “good” is indeed essential, but it is an inward, spiritual goodness—rooted in loving others and acknowledging the Lord—that opens the way to heaven.

Being made in the image of God apparently means you're giving off a literal, bodily “glow”.

A newly released study of ultraweak photon emission (UPE) found not only that human beings give off light — a glow so faint it’s impossible to see with the naked eye — but that the glow disappears upon death when your spirit leaves your body.
