Starting July 1, 2026, the U.S. Department of Education will no longer classify the following graduate programs as “professional degrees” for federal student aid:
• Master of Architecture (M.Arch)
• Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) & select MSN programs
• Master of Accounting (MAcc)
• Master of Social Work (MSW)
• Other practice-oriented graduate fields
Key impacts:
• Unlimited Graduate PLUS loans will no longer be available.
• Federal borrowing capped at $20,500/year (Direct Unsubsidized Loans).
• Income-driven repayment and PSLF eligibility unchanged at this time.
This update stems from the Department’s 2024–2025 regulations to better align aid with program outcomes and manage national student debt.
Students planning enrollment after July 2026 should review new limits and consider scholarships or accelerated options.

The Two West Virginia National Guardsmen Shot in Washington, D.C.

On November 26, 2025 (Wednesday afternoon), two members of the West Virginia National Guard—one man and one woman—were shot and killed while on patrol in downtown Washington, D.C., approximately 1-3 blocks northwest of the White House. Their names have not been publicly released, likely pending full family notifications.

What Happened:
• Time and Location: Around 2:15-2:18 p.m. ET at the corner of 17th and I Streets NW, near the entrance to Farragut West Metro Station (a routine patrol spot).

• Details: A suspect approached the guardsmen from close range (mere feet away) and opened fire, targeting them specifically. Witnesses reported hearing multiple shots (2-5 initially, then more); one guardsman tried to take cover behind a bus stop shelter amid broken glass. Three people were shot in total and transported to trauma centers.

D.C. Metropolitan Police secured the scene quickly; the White House went into “condition red” (threat to life) before downgrading to “orange.” A brief ground stop at Reagan National Airport was lifted soon after.

One suspect is in custody, severely wounded (possibly by return fire or self-inflicted), and not cooperating with investigators. No description, motive, or identity has been released yet. The FBI is assisting local police.

Drone footage released today by local People’s Defence Force (PDF) shows their fighters engaging and killing several Myanmar junta soldiers who were part of a raiding column burning villages in the area.
The soldiers in the video belong to the same military junta that has been carrying out systematic village burnings, forced displacement, and collective punishment across Sagaing and other resistance strongholds. Locals report that after small-scale ambushes like the one on the Loikaw–Demoso road earlier this week, junta troops routinely return to torch civilian homes in revenge – exactly what these soldiers were doing when they were hit.
This is the brutal reality of Myanmar’s civil war four years after the 2021 coup: a military regime that responds to guerrilla attacks by deliberately targeting civilians, and a growing armed resistance determined to make every junta movement cost blood.

Immigration seems to be the hot topic (again) and I always think of what Teddy had to say about assimilation and equality when it comes to immigration in America.

Let’s break it down for those who may not understand, as if they were a child.

“if someone moves to America because they really love it here and want to be a real American, we should treat them exactly the same as everyone else who was born here. That’s only fair!
BUT… they have to do three big things:
1. They have to decide, ‘I’m 100% American now—no half-and-half.’
(No saying, ‘I’m half Italian and half American.’ Nope. You pick America all the way.)
2. They can only wave one flag—the American flag.
(No flying another country’s flag at home and saying it’s just as important.)
3. They can only speak one language here—the English language.
(Everyone needs to learn English so we can all talk to each other.)
If they do those things and love America with their whole heart, then they’re totally one of us and we treat them like family. But if they want to keep acting like they still belong to another country more, then they can’t really be American.”

Teddy wanted everyone in America to be on the exact same team, with the same flag, same language, and same love for America—no split teams.

The war (2014-2025) is now the largest conflict in Europe since WWII.

Total estimated fatalities (both sides, military and civilian): Approximately 360,000–520,000. These focus on deaths; total casualties (including wounded/missing) exceed 2 million for the Russo-Ukrainian War.

Russia has been in 14 conflicts/interventions since 1979- That’s 5 generations in war !

- Great, great grandad (Born ‘35-‘50) & Great Grandad (born ‘58-‘72) both could serve in Afghanistan
- grandad (born ‘80-‘92) serves in the 1st & 2nd Chechen war and Georgia
-Father (born ‘00- ‘06) serves in on-going Russo- Ukrainian war
- You (born ‘06-‘07) are now eligible to be drafted… so I can see why these people are just tired and pick death over life.

On November 21, 2025, armed gunmen raided St. Mary’s Catholic School in Papiri, Niger State, Nigeria, in the early hours of the morning.

303 boarding students and 12 teachers were abducted and taken into surrounding forests. The attackers arrived on motorcycles and fired shots to force compliance. One security guard was injured.
No group has claimed responsibility. Local authorities attribute the attack to criminal bandit gangs operating in north-central Nigeria, known for large-scale kidnappings for ransom.
The Niger State government has closed all schools in the state indefinitely and deployed security forces for rescue operations. As of November 22, 2025, all 315 abducted individuals remain missing.
This is the second mass school kidnapping in Nigeria in less than a week.
