You’ve run the tape a hundred times — if your spouse would change, if your boss would change, if your circumstances would change, THEN everything would be better. Everyone else is the problem.

I say this as a friend: that’s one of the enemy’s favorite deceptions. He loves to keep your eyes locked on everyone else’s faults so you never look inward. God is far more interested in transforming your heart than in changing your circumstances. And the question that changes everything isn’t “when will they change?” It’s “what’s happening in my heart.”

You’ve watched it happen in slow motion — someone you love getting pulled under. The addiction, the confusion, the fighting, the slow fade, the life so far from God you barely recognize them anymore. And you feel completely powerless to stop it.

David came home to Ziklag and found everyone he loved taken captive. But God’s word to him was, “Pursue, for you shall surely recover all.” The enemy is real, and his desire to enslave the people you love is real — but so is God’s power to bring them back. Captivity is not the final chapter.

Your feed is full of people telling you who Jesus is — and half of them contradict each other. One says He's God, one says He's a created being, one says He never existed. You're just trying to figure out who's actually right.

Here's the filter that cuts through the noise: context. People twist single verses to prove Jesus isn't God, but when you read the surrounding scriptures, the truth becomes unmistakable. Don't build your beliefs on a clip or a hot take. Build them on the whole counsel of the Word.

📖 2 Timothy 2:15 — "Rightly dividing the word of truth."

Martha served. Mary worshiped. Jesus received them differently. Serving God is good. But there’s a closeness that only comes from pouring yourself out at His feet. Don’t get so busy working FOR Him that you forget to be WITH Him.

You’ve made yourself useful to God. Busy. Serving, volunteering, always doing. And somewhere in all that motion, you’ve started to mistake activity for intimacy.

That night, Martha served — heart in the right place, making everything perfect for Jesus. But it was Mary, down at His feet, who got the moment Jesus defended and praised. Serving Him is good. But it’s not the same as being WITH Him. There’s a nearness you can only get on your knees, not on your feet.

Don’t let your work for God become a substitute for time with God. Spend time with the Lord.

You think your history disqualifies you from really worshiping. That because of what you’ve done, your praise doesn’t count as much as the “good” people around you.

In the story of Mary, and her alabaster jar, we find that the woman pouring out that oil wasn’t the most respectable person in the room — and everyone knew it. But Jesus didn’t see a reputation. He saw worship so beautiful He said it would be told wherever the gospel is preached. Her brokenness didn’t cheapen her gift. It’s what made it pour out so freely.

What you’ve been through doesn’t cancel your praise, it’s the very thing that brings it forth.

Do you realize your worship actually does something TO God? Not just checks a box. Not just fulfills a duty — It really moves Him.

When Jesus defended Mary, the word He used for “good work” was kalos — which doesn’t just mean morally right, it means lovely, charming, captivating. Mary’s broken flask of oil didn’t just satisfy a requirement. It captivated the heart of the Son of God.

You may think you’re insignificant. But your wholehearted love can captivate the Maker of the universe.

📖 Mark 14:6 — “She has done a good work [kalos] for Me.”
📖 Zephaniah 3:17 — “He will rejoice over you with gladness… He will rejoice over you with singing.”

You secretly judge people who worship “too loud.” The hand-raiser. The crier. The one who gives too much. Michal mocked David for worshiping with abandon — and stayed barren for life. Judging someone’s worship is more dangerous than you think. Bless it or stay quiet.

Let’s be honest — it’s easy to quietly judge the person who worships “too loud,” gives “too much,” or seems “too into it.” We’ve all done it. Decided from a distance that they were doing too much.

David danced before the Lord with everything in him, and his own wife despised him for it. The Bible says Michal stayed barren the rest of her life. There’s real weight to mocking someone’s genuine love for God. It is not a small thing.

When you see someone pour out for God, the safest move is to bless it — or stay quiet.

📖 2 Samuel 6:16 — “Michal… saw King David leaping and whirling before the Lord; and she despised him in her heart.”
📖 2 Samuel 6:23 — “Therefore Michal… had no children to the day of her death.”

Your worship was never meant to make sense to the people watching. It wasn’t a show. It wasn’t for them. “For Me,” Jesus said. An audience of ONE. Stop performing for the room and start pouring out for Him.

Somewhere along the way you started worshiping with one eye on the room. Wondering if you look weird. If you’re too much. If people are judging how you raise your hands or how you cry or how you give. Looking for man’s approval instead of God’s can derail you by messing with your relationship with Him.

Here’s what Jesus said about Mary: she did it “for Me.” Not for the crowd. Not for applause. For HIM. That’s the whole secret. Her worship didn’t have to make sense to anybody else in that house, because it was never for them.

Stop performing for people.

📖 Colossians 3:23 — “Whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men.”

You’ve got something you’re saving. Your time. Your money. Your full surrender. You keep telling yourself “someday” — when it’s safer, when it makes more sense, when you can afford it.

Mary held a flask worth a YEAR of wages. The smart move was a few drops. Instead, she shattered the whole thing — no plan to save any for later, no backup. That’s what real devotion looks like. It doesn’t calculate. It pours.

What are you still keeping from the One who gave you everything?

You’ve felt the need to explain yourself, haven’t you? To justify why you pray the way you pray, give the way you give, love God the way you do. To make the critics understand.

Watch this — when they came against Mary, she said NOTHING. Not one word of defense. And you know who spoke up? Jesus. “Leave her alone. Why are you bothering her?” He defended her so she didn’t have to.

You don’t owe anyone an explanation for your worship. The One it’s for has already got your back.

📖 Mark 14:6 — “But Jesus said, ‘Let her alone. Why do you trouble her?’”
📖 Romans 8:31 — “If God is for us, who can be against us?”
