ARTIST SPOTLIGHT #9 Joe Wink

Joe and I have known each other for years now, and I was listening to his music long before Twitch. He’s also one of the founding members of Ascendance and someone I’m proud to call a great friend and honestly one of the biggest inspirations in progressive breaks in my eyes. I truly can’t think of many people who have done more for the scene and community over the years than Joe has.

A true pioneer in the progressive breaks scene, Joe Wink has been dedicated to underground electronic music since beginning his journey behind the decks in 1994. With breaks always at the heart of his sound, Joe has spent decades refining a style built around deep emotion, melodic storytelling, and flawless mixing that uncovers hidden gems many listeners may have overlooked.

Over the years, Joe evolved from vinyl to digital mixing and production, building a reputation for masterfully crafted edits, mashups, and immersive musical journeys that continue to inspire listeners worldwide. His passion for quality music and attention to detail shine through in every performance.

Joe is also the mastermind behind Broken Essence, his long-running progressive breaks podcast and series that has become highly respected within the underground scene. I’ve gotten to know Ian pretty well over the last year and had the chance to collaborate with him while hosting the first ASCENDANCE Live event in Nottingham. From the very beginning, he’s been nothing but welcoming, supportive, and passionate about the music and community.

A super genuine guy with a deep love for underground sounds, Ian always brings great energy whether it’s behind the decks or helping bring people together through events. Really glad music connected us and looking forward to much more in the future.

About the artist:

Ian’s journey through electronic music spans decades, exploring genres like melodic house, breakbeat, trance, and progressive. His sets balance uplifting vocals and euphoric melodies with darker, driving rhythms to create journeys that really pull people in.

As the founder of Infinite Beats in Nottingham, Ian has helped showcase both local talent and established artists while continuing to push underground music forward through events and performances across the UK scene.

A true progressive breaks soldier and one of the founding members behind ASCENDANCE, Atmospherix brings deep atmospheres, melodic energy, and forward-thinking sounds every time he steps behind the decks.

He’s also the creative vision behind True Underground and Ascendance, bringing the events to life through the flyers and artwork that help the brand stand out from the crowd! I could not do these events without him!

Not only a DJ, but also beginning to dabble in production, he’s helping push the progressive breaks movement forward both online and on the dancefloor. As a resident DJ for RESONATE in Orlando, he’s built a reputation for delivering immersive journeys packed with emotion, groove, and late-night energy.

From Twitch streams to live events, including his latest appearance in Nottingham for Ascendance Live! Atmospherix continues to represent the sound and spirit of the underground community. Artist Spotlight #6

Emma Louisa Bwprincess is someone I’ve gotten to know really well over the last year and has played on many of the events I’ve put together. Most recently, she played at Ascendance Live in Nottingham, hosted by Ian Bircher and absolutely brought the vibes.

Breaks will always be my personal favorite, but honestly no matter what genre she touches, there’s always a deep atmosphere and emotion behind it. Her sets have a way of pulling people in and keeping them locked from start to finish.

It’s also been amazing watching the community connect with both her and her music over time. Seeing that support continue to grow has been really special, and it’s fully deserved.

About the artist! Bwprincess didn’t wait for permission.

There has always been music. A deep, constant thread running through everything, shaped by the emotive worlds of Anjunadeep, Selador, Prognosis and Capital Heaven. Sounds built on patience and progression, where hypnotic rhythms unfold slowly and moments of pure euphoria arrive without warning.

In 2024, at 41, she stepped up to the decks and began to shape that lifelong influence into her own voice. Not sets, but journeys. Progressive and melodic tapestries woven with intention, subtle tension, and emotional release.

Her sound moves with purpose. It doesn’t rush. It evolves, layer by layer, drawing listeners in and holding them there, before gently lifting them into something deeper.

From gigs with Infinite Beats in Nottingham to her growing online presence on Twitch, bwprincess is quietly building something real.

Delta DJ is someone I truly look up to, a real example of putting the music and the community first. His passion for music shines through in every set he plays, and in the countless events he puts together to give everyone the chance to share the same stage.

Always bringing people together through the love of music, Delta DJ continues to be a driving force in the scene and a huge supporter of the community. Proud to have him involved in this journey! 🔥

About the artist Delta is a DJ with more than 17 years of experience, passionate about electronic music in all its forms and with a special sensitivity for melodies. His style is mainly focused on Breakbeat, a genre in which he has developed his own identity over the years.

From a very young age, his connection with music began through different instruments and participation in local rock bands, allowing him to build a solid and versatile musical foundation. Over time, he transferred that experience into the world of DJing, performing at various events across southern Andalucía and sharing lineups with well-known producers from the Breakbeat scene.

Currently, he focuses his energy on his Twitch channel, where he has achieved a unique milestone: becoming the only Breakbeat channel in Spain to reach Partner status to date. In 2023, he was also the winner of the competition organized by GBF, further solidifying his position within the Twitch scene.

Beyond the achievements, his greatest reward has been the human connection: the friendships created and the opportunity to meet talented people from different parts of the world who share the same passion for music.
