WHAT A STORY!

In 1947 Ollie Mae Moore was all set to come to what was then Scotia Women’s College. An unforeseen situation occurred in her family that forced her to step in and support her family and she never made it to Scotia.

Almost 80 years later her siblings, children, and family members established the Ollie Mae Moore Foundation to honor her and her contributions to the family and the community she served.

They shared how much she talked about Scotia over the years and regretted not being able to ever attend. The family decided to honor her by establishing the Ollie Mae Moore Scholarship and will provide $500 scholarship to a student each semester in her name.

While Ollie Mae is no longer with us, her impact to Barber-Scotia will be forever. Here’s to legacy and never giving up.
