According to a post on the executive branch website Monday, a 25% tariff on imported sofas, chairs and sectionals takes effect Oct. 14 and rises to 30% Jan. 1, 2026. However, these rates would not apply to products imported from the United Kingdom, Japan and member countries of the European Union, where tariffs do not exceed 10% in the case of the U.K. and 15% in the case of Japan and the EU.
