50 years ago today, this Supermodified was in the starting field for the 19th Annual Oswego Speedway International Classic 200. Built by Oswego icon Nolan Swift and his crew chief Bill Wright for "Cowboy" Leon Wieske, it was the only chassis they built for another driver. Wieske debuted it in 1974 and ran two Classics with it. It has been beautifully restored by Gary Fedewa and is now owned by former Oswego competitor Vern Lafave. He has it on hand in the back pit for fans to see! If you look at the left front nose there are some half-century old blemishes on it. How cool is that?

08/30/2025

🚀Watch: Former Oswego Speedway winner Michael Barnes talks about his 15.8 time trial lap yesterday, which was fast enough to put him outside pole for tomorrow's 69th running of the biggest and baddest Supermodified race on the planet.
