You are going to LOVE this F R E E list of creative & educational NO-SCREEN ideas for your family👇🏽

I see you, mama — Stressing over the amount of screen-time your kids are getting. Worried that you’re ruining their childhood by allowing them to watch tv.

If this sounds familiar, I’ve got a tip for you…

✨ But first, go ahead and SAVE THIS POST so that you can reference it later 😉

Screens are not the enemy. Comparison is. 👏🏽👏🏽

We use screens for all kinds of things around here. Entertainment, education, quiet time for mom 😅

I used to fall into the trap of comparing my parenting methods to the “perfect” homeschool moms I follow here, but I found that what works for their highlight reels, will never work for our home in real life.

✅ So now, we proudly embrace screen time!

However, I can totally relate to needing a break from the screens. Even as adults we need this type of break often.

So, I created a fun activity guide full of NO-SCREEN ideas that will help you implement screen-less fun into your home, without the mini bursts of frustration that might erupt when you announce “No screens today.” 😅

💡Ps - Don’t even make the announcement… The ideas in this guide are so much fun they might not even ask for screen time 🤭

Listen, screens and technology have their place - especially in this day and age. But teaching healthy boundaries with screens and showing kids that screen-free fun is still actually fun is really worth it in the long run.

Here’s a few ways to help your kids learn to love reading 👇🏽

I think most homeschool mamas get caught up in what “should be” and completely miss out on what “could be”. Let me explain…

✨ But first, go ahead and SAVE THIS POST so that you can reference it later when you need the reminder 😉

We (as homeschool mamas) are often so hard on ourselves. Pushing ourselves to the brink of pure exhaustion (and sometimes beyond!) for the sake of “feeling” like we’re doing “enough” in our homeschool.

❌ THE PROBLEM?

The problem is, “enough” is less about what our kids are actually learning and how they are growing as an individual, and more about comparing them to another student or even the public school system.

✅ So here’s how this connects with raising kids who love to read…

It’s safe to say that EVERY kid loves adventure, fun, and entertainment. Books and reading provide all of that and more.

So the desire to want to LOVE reading is already a little seed planted in their souls. 🌱

To get it to sprout, you have to stop focusing on what you think you “should” be doing in your homeschool for reading — and start listening to YOUR KIDS. 👏🏽👏🏽

⏺ Let them pick out their own books and read topics that interest them — If they love classic books, fine. But most kids will enjoy reading more if they can visualize what’s happening a little better. Harry Potter is perfect for this! 🪄

⏺ Incorporate reading into other activities like going for a walk and reading the signs and things around you! Getting them out of a “typical” reading element makes reading more exciting!

⏺ PLAY games that involve reading and writing. The oldest trick in the book 😉 When a kid is playing, they can’t possibly be learning anything… Or so they think 🤭

If you’ve been wanting to ditch traditional homeschooling methods and start creating a homeschool that brings you joy — you’ve found the right account 🎉

Hey y'all! 🌟 Let's chat about something we all know too well—navigating the holiday hustle as homeschool moms. 🏡✨ It's a juggling act, am I right? But here's the scoop: setting boundaries during this festive season is a game-changer for maintaining our sanity and keeping the homeschool ship sailing smoothly. 🚢💕

1️⃣ Recognize Your Limits: Take a moment to acknowledge what you can realistically handle. Whether it's commitments, events, or festive projects, be honest with yourself about how much you can take on without feeling overwhelmed.

2️⃣ Prioritize Your Homeschool Routine (if you wanna!): Holidays are the perfect time to embrace flexibility, but that doesn't mean you have to throw the entire routine out the window. You can still enjoy the season while prioritizing your homeschool rhythm. Whether it's maintaining morning reading time or math, sticking to these routines can provide stability amidst the holiday chaos.

3️⃣ Learn to Say "No" (after all, it IS a complete sentence you know 😉): It's not about being a Grinch, but rather about protecting your time and energy. Your time is precious, even during the holidays — spend it where it matters most.

4️⃣ Communicate Expectations: A little communication goes a long way. Setting expectations helps avoid misunderstandings and reduces stress for everyone involved.

5️⃣ Plan Breaks and Self-Care: Amidst the holiday excitement, make sure to schedule intentional breaks for yourself. Whether it's a quiet cup of tea, a solo walk, or a brief moment to just breathe, self-care is non-negotiable. Remember, you can't pour from an empty cup ✨

6️⃣ Embrace Imperfection: Repeat after me-- Perfect 👏🏽 holidays 👏🏽 do 👏🏽 not 👏🏽 exist👏🏽 It's okay if the tree decorations aren't Pinterest-worthy or if the holiday meal has a few burnt edges. Embrace imperfection, celebrate the messy, and focus on creating meaningful moments with your family.

Let's Chat! 🗣️ What are your go-to strategies for setting boundaries during the holidays as a homeschool mom? Drop your tips, experiences, or even the hilarious mishaps in the comments below! 💬💖
