The number one thing needed to launch a new business? A STRONG AND SUPPORTIVE FRIEND GROUP!
Thankfully, I have all of you!!!!!
So I put a giant checkmark next to that one and started on the 40,000 other things needed to get ready for today.
With that, I am proud to "hatch" Orange Duck Creative, LLC.
The ODC is a content-creation company. Creating content is a great way to marry the last 25 years of my life. It combines my jobs - award-winning producer for the American Forces Network, entrepreneur, sales rep, and sales manager - with my hobbies - stand-up comedy, and creative writing - and fills my need to create.
It's been a long and twisted path getting to this point. There were a lot of dead ends along the way (like a year + studying cybersecurity!!!) and there were many obstacles along the path.
I can unequivocally say I could not have made the journey without the endless love, steadfast support, and tireless patience of my amazing wife, Dre Leon Ross. You are my shining example of success - my muse, and my rock. I love you. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
I am proud to say I bootstrapped the hell out of this project, abusing the many free resources available to Veterans, Dre's Squad Network, and anyone else who would listen.
There are still tons to do (my website is a wreck, lol) and lots to learn. Those things will come, but for now, I’m really proud of how far I’ve come. Getting launched in January was a big goal for me and felt daunting even a few weeks ago.
These things are never easy and often depend on the generous support of friends like you. If you have a business (or recommend a business) that could benefit from a deeper connection to its core customer, please give me a shout.
