Today I’m 43 years young! 🙌🏽

Wow! What a month MAY 2022 has been! Such a crazy but wonderful ride from the first day until the last.
May 1, 2022 I became an Alpha woman! 💗💚
May 2, 2022 I stepped out on faith and started at a new company that I ABSOLUTELY love!!

All the days in between have left such an impact on my life. I have gained new sisters, friends, a better perspective on life, new skill sets, I’ve started something big to get me to the next level (👀 moving in silence), and nurtured the relationships that mean the most to me.
I’m so thankful for all the calls, text messages, DMs, flowers, gifts, emails, drop-ins, and cards. I feel the love! My cup is full and running over! Love you all! Cheers to 43 years! 💗💚🙌🏽🙏🏼🥰🎉♊️

I prayed for a man like him and on this day four years ago today I met that man. Jay, thank you for being the exception to the rule. My outlier 💕, my person, my best friend, my fiancé, my protector, my praying partner, my future husband and my King. These four years haven’t all been peaches and cream but it has definitely been worth it. I would say hello again, date you again, and say yes again. 🙏🏼🙌🏽 You make me a better woman. 😊

What Made Me Stronger Than Before?

I'm not your typical person. I am crafted from the tribulations that didn't break me, molded from the trials that didn't kill me and strengthened by the God that saved me! I am STRONGER THAN BEFORE because I didn't allow myself to be broken by my past. James 1:2-4 I'm a single mom, and I haven't always made the right decisions, but none of those things define who I am or what I am destined to be.

I was born in May of 1979. I grew up in a small town in Lynchburg, VA. I always knew I was different than most kids and I never fitted in. I was bullied all through elementary school but still loved people. As a child, I had a strong foundation of Christ in my life.

Growing up in a COGIC holiness church, you tend to find yourself in church almost seven days a week. Church folk becomes your family, and everyone is either your auntie, uncle, or cousin. Your parents tend to trust people more from the church and wolves blend in with the sheep. While only a little girl, a minister of the church, who was a wolf in sheep's clothing, molested me time and time again until I got old enough to understand what he was doing and how it made me feel. I made sure he didn't corner me alone ever again. When I was 12 years old, another man violated me. The man r***d me. He lived in my neighborhood. I pushed the nightmares away and started to become numb to my surroundings. I begin to attract older men. I tell myself I do not have anything in common with boys my age. I start flirting with older men. I have my first child in 1995 at the age of 15. The father was 21. My uncle and late aunt raised him as their own from birth.

Over the next few years, I felt as if I was going through the motions. I graduated from high school in 1997 and attended North Carolina Central University that fall. I graduated with my first degree in May 2001. In 2002, eight months after graduating from college, I had my daughter. She is currently in high school and scheduled to graduate in 2020. A couple of years later I got married and had my son in 2005. He is in middle school. As you can imagine, I have experience in the good, bad and the ugly of raising teenagers in today's generation. A few years ago, God laid on my heart to share my testimony and inspire others not to give up! I don't look like what I've been through, and it's because of the grace of God. I've had to deal with Rejection, R**e, Loss, Failure, Fear, Anxiety, Depression, Sickness, Divorce, Grief, Addiction, Poverty, and more. You name it, I've been through it, and yet MY PAST DIDN'T BREAK ME!

Although I've been through some of life's fiercest battles, I have come out stronger. Today, I am a blessed woman who is walking in my purpose. I'm a mom of two beautiful children. I'm healthy and happy. I have a career I enjoy that is challenging and rewarding. Over the years, I have attained additional degrees, certifications and purchased a few homes. It hasn't been easy, and there have been some obstacles along the way. But I refuse to give up! I'm wiser than I was yesterday and more confident than I was a year ago. Those test and trials made me stronger.

Now, I am stepping out on faith and adventuring out to start my own business. My goal is to write my book to share my life's journey. While doing so, I will offer my talents as a life organizer, mentor, inspirational speaker, and visual brand manager. I am going to take what I love doing for my close family and friends and expand it to the community.
