Purple Dreams Premieres on PBS North Carolina

PBS North Carolina—one of the largest PBS stations in the nation—has long been a beacon for powerful, mission-driven storytelling. I have deep admiration for the dedicated and talented team there, and I fully support their commitment to education, the arts, and community voices. That’s why we are proud to announce that PBS is the new home for our award-winning documentary, Purple Dreams.

We’re officially PBS-bound, with our first broadcast set for Thursday, September 4 at 9:30 PM.

Purple Dreams is a story about hope, determination, and the transformative power of arts education—especially for students facing adversity. The film follows the passionate journey of students and educators at Northwest School of the Arts as they take on the monumental task of staging the iconic musical The Color Purple.

Their story will inspire, challenge, and uplift you. We hope you’ll tune in and help spread the word.

Our passion project documentary, Martin Hill: Camera Man, has officially found a home on PBS NC! It will premiere on August 17th at 8:00 PM.

This film has been a labor of love, and we're honored to share Martin’s story — about a quirky hoarder/collector that saved some of Hollywood's most important, iconic cameras.

We’ve dedicated the film to four dear friends in film who’ve passed on to that big location in the sky: Richard Aldridge, Dave Clanton, Bob Newcomb, and Richard Parker. Their impact on our lives is felt in every frame we capture.

https://hardawayamericanindianmuseum.org The website is officially live—featuring six short films (and a hour long table discussion) created for the Hardaway American Indian Museum! We had the honor of interviewing archaeologists, anthropologists, a gemologist, tribal leaders, and Native American elders. These films highlight discoveries from the Hardaway Site, a designated National Historic Landmark, and celebrate the rich culture and history of American Indian communities.
The museum is being developed in collaboration with Morrow Mountain State Park, North Carolina State Parks, and the North Carolina Department of Natural & Cultural Resources.
A huge thank you to Rick Fitts for producing and editing. It was truly a pleasure to direct and film this project with you.

That time that I was at The Sundance Institute Independent Producer's Workshop, in a small room, at a small table with Robert Redford, Steven Soderberg and Harvey Weinstein for four days. I wish I could go back and relive some of those experiences knowing what I know now!
