Ok we love this! Well done, Main Street Books -- Davidson, NC. Thank you for welcoming ALL shoppers this holiday season. 🫶🏼

In partnership with Etiam Neurodivergent Coaching & Consulting, we are hosting Low-Sensory Shopping Nights this month.

From 6:00-7:00PM, we will modify Main Street Books to create an inclusive shopping experience, particularly for folks who are sensitive to the visual, auditory, and olfactory environment.

What kinds of modifications?
- The overhead LED lights will be off.
- Warm task lighting will be added.
- Music will be off.
- Phone ringer will be off.
- Fidget toys will be available for use.

We will host Low Sensory Shopping Nights from 6:00-7:00PM on

All are welcome and will be encouraged to help keep the bookstore sensory-friendly during our dedicated low-sensory shopping hours.

HELP NEEDED, Currents Family! Details from Angels & Sparrows () below!

Every year, the Kids Christmas Party at Angels & Sparrows is pure magic. It’s a dignified, joy-filled shopping experience where the children we serve choose 4–5 gifts they truly want. For many of our kids, this is their Christmas.
For more than a decade, one community partner has supplied over 1,000 toys to make this possible. Today, with no warning, we learned they cannot provide gifts this year.
Our party is next week and right now, we simply do not have the toys we need.
We’re calling on our volunteers, partner groups, churches, businesses, and friends to rally and help us collect new, unwrapped toys for children ages 2–12.

New, unwrapped toys for ages 2–12 — especially items that offer choice and variety:

This is last-minute and we know this community has heart. You’ve shown up time and time again for families who need you most. We’re asking you to do it once more, for our kids.

When it comes to holiday décor, the Christmas tree may be the star, but poinsettias are the scene-stealers. And no one grows them quite like Metrolina Greenhouses ().

Based right here in Huntersville, this family-owned operation ships 4 million poinsettias each year to more than 1,400 East Coast stores, including Home Depot, Lowe’s, Walmart, and Sam’s Club.

What started as Tom and Vickie VanWingerden’s 20,000 sq. ft. greenhouse in 1971 has blossomed into over 200+ acres of indoor growing space, high-tech automation, and some of the most beautiful holiday plants you’ll find.

Brothers Abe and Art VanWingerden continue their family’s legacy with innovation, sustainability, and a whole lot of holiday spirit. As Art says, “For me, it’s the greatest joy.” 🎄
