๐Ÿ Big Horn Wrestling Club Closes Season at Jason Crawford Memorial

The Riverside Big Horn Wrestling Club wrapped up its Little Guy wrestling season at the Jason Crawford Memorial Tournament on April 4, 2026, marking the final event of the year for the program.

The Jason Crawford Memorial is one of the more meaningful tournaments of the season, bringing together wrestlers from across the region for a full day of competition while honoring the legacy of Jason Crawford and his impact on the wrestling community.

Big Horn wrestlers competed throughout the day in multiple matches, with many athletes earning victories and having their hands raised. The tournament provided a final opportunity for these young wrestlers to showcase the growth, effort, and improvement they have developed over the course of the season.

From first-year competitors to more experienced wrestlers, the Big Horn athletes demonstrated determination, resilience, and sportsmanship on the mat. The event also gave families, coaches, and the community a chance to come together in support of the program and celebrate the progress made throughout the year.

Big Horn Wrestling Club continues to build a strong foundation for the future of Riverside wrestling, with this seasonโ€™s efforts setting the stage for continued success.

๐Ÿ Big Horn Wrestling Club โ€” End of Season

As the Big Horn Wrestling Club season comes to a close, we want to recognize all of the wrestlers, coaches, families, and volunteers who made this year special.

This team showed growth, toughness, effort, and pride throughout the season. From first-time wrestlers stepping onto the mat to experienced athletes continuing to improve, every wrestler played a part in making this season memorable.

We want to give a special thank you to Coach Ben Coe for his dedication to the Big Horn Wrestling Club. Coaches play an important role in wrestling โ€” they teach more than technique and competition. They help build confidence, discipline, work ethic, and character in young athletes. Coach Benโ€™s impact on this program and these kids will be felt for years to come.

We would also like to thank all of our coaches for the time and commitment they give to these athletes throughout the season.

A special thank you to Jolene Black and Kelly Moody for everything they do behind the scenes to keep the club organized and moving forward. Your work does not go unnoticed and is a big part of what makes this program successful.

And thank you to all of the volunteers and families who support these wrestlers every step of the way. This program is built on community.

Big Horn Wrestling Club Competes at WLGWLโ€“EWU Tournament

Members of the Big Horn Wrestling Club competed in the Washington Little Guy Wrestling League (WLGWL) โ€“ EWU Tournament on March 14, 2026, held at Eastern Washington University. The event was hosted by Spokane Wrestling and brought together young wrestlers from across the region.

Throughout the tournament, Big Horn wrestlers represented Riverside well, with many athletes bringing home medals and trophies after strong performances on the mat. The event provided valuable competition for these young wrestlers as they continue developing their skills and gaining match experience.

The Washington Little Guy Wrestling League events give youth wrestlers an opportunity to compete in a structured environment while building confidence, discipline, and sportsmanship. It was evident throughout the tournament that the Big Horn athletes have been putting in the effort during practices, as they competed hard and continued to show improvement.

Riverside High School was also represented by members of the wrestling team. Lane Black, a wrestler from Riverside High School, volunteered his time during the tournament to serve as an official, helping ensure matches ran smoothly throughout the day.

Seeing high school athletes give back to the youth program highlights the strong tradition within the Riverside wrestling community. Many of todayโ€™s high school wrestlers began their journeys in the Big Horn Wrestling Club, and opportunities like this help connect the younger athletes with the next level of the sport.

As the Big Horn Wrestling Club continues its season, these young wrestlers will build on their experience and continue developing the foundation for the future of Riverside wrestling.

๐Ÿ Ram Nation is proud of the effort these young athletes continue to put in on the mat.

๐ŸคผBig Horn Wrestling Club โ€œLittle Guyโ€ Wrestlers Compete at Gonzaga Prep - The future of Riverside wrestling is already stepping onto the mat.

The next generation of Riverside wrestlers took to the mat this weekend as members of the Riverside Big Horn Wrestling Club competed in their first Little Guy Wrestling tournament of the season on Saturday, March 7, at Gonzaga Preparatory School in Spokane.

For many of the young athletes, the tournament marked their first experience competing in a wrestling event. Despite the nerves that often come with stepping onto the mat for the first time, Big Horn wrestlers showed determination, effort, and a willingness to compete against athletes from programs across the region.

Little Guy Wrestling tournaments focus on introducing young athletes to the fundamentals of competition while helping them build confidence, sportsmanship, and resilience. Throughout the day, the Big Horn wrestlers battled through their matches, gaining valuable experience and continuing to develop the skills they practice each week.

The event also provided families, coaches, and teammates the opportunity to support the young wrestlers as they represented the Big Horn Wrestling Club and the Riverside community.

Programs like the Big Horn Wrestling Club play an important role in the continued success of Riverside wrestling. Many current middle school and high school wrestlers began their careers in Little Guy tournaments just like this one, learning the fundamentals that help prepare them for future competition.

As the season continues, the young Big Horn wrestlers will look to build on this experience while continuing to grow their skills on the mat.

State Wrestlers Return to Inspire Big Horn Wrestling Club

The Big Horn Wrestling Club had some very special guests during practice this week, as several former Big Horn wrestlers and current Washington state competitors returned to give back to the next generation of athletes.

Joining the club were Colby Scarpelli, Spencer Scarpelli, Bodey Schweiger, Hunter Coe, Lane Black, and Riverside High School Coach Peter DesRoches. Each of these athletes have strong ties to the Big Horn program and have gone on to compete at a high level in Washington State wrestling.

During practice, the wrestlers worked with club members, sharing techniques, offering instruction, and helping young athletes improve their skills on the mat. Their presence gave the younger wrestlers the opportunity to learn from athletes who have competed at the state level.

Many of these wrestlers began their own journeys in the Big Horn Wrestling Club, making the visit especially meaningful as they returned to support the program that helped shape their wrestling journey.

Moments like this highlight the strength of the Riverside community and the tradition of athletes giving back to the next generation.

Ram Nation is proud of these athletes and the leadership they continue to show.

Once a Ram, always a Ram!
