Attending the annual ag banquet and talking to all the local people who are involved in agriculture is always a learning experience for me. I meet so many wonderful folks. And pick their brains to improve my garden. (Hey Barb S. can't wait to attempt to make raspberry wine from my berries this year.) In addition, I was honored to share a table with State Rep. Kathy Schmultz. She is pictured here with the 2025 distinguished award winners: Darrin Buss and Diane Horning.

Wind Advisory issued January 27 at 3:03PM EST until January 27 at 11:00PM EST by NWS Detroit/Pontiac MI

* WHAT...Southwest winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.

* WHERE...A portion of southeast Michigan.

* WHEN...Until 11 PM EST this evening.

* IMPACTS...Gusty winds could damage unsecured objects. Tree limbs

could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Peak wind gusts occur from now until 8 PM and

then gradually diminish during the evening

Snow showers will affect the area this morning into early

afternoon. Some of these snow showers will be intense, causing rapid

drops in visibility and quick accumulations onto roads.

* WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations 1 to 3 inches, with

locally higher amounts possible.

* WHERE...Washtenaw and Wayne Counties.

* WHEN...From 8 AM this morning to 2 PM EST this afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions and rapidly changing

visibilities.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Intervals of higher intensity snow showers

may cause brief periods of near white out conditions

Winter Weather Advisory issued January 10 at 2:30AM EST until January 11 at 1:00AM EST by NWS Detroit/Pontiac MI

* WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 2 and 4

inches.

* WHERE...Most of southeast Michigan.

* WHEN...From 1 PM this afternoon to 1 AM EST Saturday.

* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous

conditions could impact the Friday evening commute.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Peak snowfall rates are expected during the

evening rush hour period, roughly between 2pm and 8pm. During this

timeframe rates in excess of a quarter inch per hour are possible

resulting in accumulations of 1 to 2 inches within a few hours.

Snow lessens in intensity overnight with total accumulations by

early Saturday morning being between 2 to 4 inches for areas

within the advisory

The City of Chelsea Trick or Treating hours are from 5:30pm-7:30pm tonight. The Chelsea Police Department would like to remind everyone driving to reduce speeds and watch for the increased foot traffic of pedestrians.

The boil water advisory has been lifted in the City of Chelsea.

If you're having your water service restored, you need to flush your home's water pipes! Moving fresh water through your pipes flushes bacteria and metals from your plumbing.

So happy for and proud of Josh on this huge accomplishment. He also took second place with one of his pigs in a large and competitive class.

Another Update: All City water has been restored. The Boil Water Advisory is still in effect until we receive two negative tests. We will continue to update.
Update: The Boil Water Advisory is still in effect for the entire City of Chelsea due to the loss of water pressure. The water main break has been located near the Lanewood neighborhood and crews are actively addressing the issue. The rest of the City should start seeing their water pressure restored slowly over the rest of the evening. At this time, Lanewood subdivision, on the northern portion of the city is still without water
The City of Chelsea is currently experiencing a water related issue. The City Water Department is working to locate and resolve the issue, but has issued a BOIL WATER ADVISORY until further notice as a precautionary measure.
