30-piece custom hammer run complete for Mat Psycho Family Fitness & Combat . 🔨
We just wrapped up this custom production run for Mat Psycho and the Psycho Social Super Match.
These weren't as simple as throwing a hammer under the laser and hitting start. The tapered engraving surface required us to design and build a dedicated fixture so every hammer could be positioned consistently throughout the run. The handles required a separate setup and engraving operation as well.
And if you noticed the one hammer that stands out in the batch... 👀
We took one a step further with a multi-color finish using masking, engraving and paint to see just how far we could push the design.
Projects like this are exactly why we enjoy custom work. Sometimes the challenge isn't the engraving itself — it's figuring out how to hold the part, build a repeatable process, and produce consistent results across an entire run.
If we can fixture it, there's a pretty good chance we can mark it.

Some places are more than just an address. ❤️

This week we turned a photograph of a customer’s home into a custom laser-engraved canvas. There’s something pretty cool about taking an ordinary photograph and turning it into a piece that can be kept for years.

Homes, cabins, family farms, wedding venues — sometimes the building itself is part of the story.

This one is headed out as a gift, and we’re pretty happy with how it turned out.

A little behind-the-scenes look at what's been happening at CMC.
The shop has been getting a pretty major rework.
What started as making room for the new UV laser turned into moving equipment, rebuilding work areas, changing ventilation, adding workspace and basically asking, "Well, while we're doing this... what else should we fix?" 😂
The MOPA fiber laser has been part of the shop for a while, but adding UV gives us another completely different set of capabilities. Combined with our CO₂ and fiber equipment, we're able to work with a much wider range of materials and projects than ever before.
Wood. Metal. Glass. Bottles. Tumblers. Plastics. Detailed parts. Commercial work.
And, inevitably, whatever weird thing somebody walks through the door with and asks:
"Can you laser this?"
We're also changing up the schedule this week to give CMC more dedicated production time and keep everything moving.
The shop isn't pretty yet.
But it's becoming a hell of a lot more efficient.
And we've got a lot planned for it.

Had a lot of fun making these for Ugly Dog Distillery!
We broke out the new UV laser for these custom 1st, 2nd & 3rd place bottles — and the detail this thing can put on glass is ridiculous.

One design. Two completely different wedding styles.

This customer coordinates both rustic and modern weddings, so she asked us to create two versions of her unplugged ceremony sign.

The first combines stained wood with mirrored gold for a warm, rustic look.

The second uses a soft green finish with the same dimensional lettering for a cleaner, more modern style.

Same message. Same design. Completely different feel.

That's the fun part about custom work — we can build it to fit the event, not the other way around.

Well… Violet didn’t waste any time earning her keep.

A few days after our new UV laser arrived, we got the opportunity to work on something pretty damn cool — the limited-edition Wi******er Bourbon 250th Anniversary bottle.

Wi******er Bourbon came to us with their concept for the commemorative bottle, and our job was to figure out how to turn that artwork into a clean, detailed engraving on glass.

After some testing, tweaking, and a few sacrificial bottles… this is the result.

The finished engraving has detail we simply couldn't achieve on glass with our other equipment. That tiny rider. The script. The fine lines. Violet absolutely nailed it.

It's time for a little honesty from CMC.
We've hit that awkward stage in growing a small business where there's too much work to keep squeezing everything into the hours left after a full-time job, but making the jump to having more time for the business is still a big decision.
Lately, that balancing act hasn't been working.
Orders have stacked up. New lake maps have been finished but haven't even made it online. Messages and follow-ups haven't always gotten the attention they should. And our online presence has pretty much disappeared.
Most importantly, if you're someone who has fallen through the cracks somewhere along the way, I'm sorry.
If you're waiting on a quote, a proof, an order, or even just a response from me, please reach out. I'm spending the next few days getting caught up and making sure nobody gets left behind.
The funny part is that CMC hasn't been quiet because business is bad. We've been quiet because there's been too much happening behind the scenes.
We've got new maps coming, customer projects everywhere, and we've just added a new UV laser that's opening up an entirely new world of things we can do—including the glass engraving in the last photo.
There are some changes coming around here.
But first, I've got some catching up to do.
Time to get to work.
