High above Vermont’s Route 100 as it winds through the green mountains. Taken 10/4/24. This year the same area, only a few days later, the trees were almost bare. I’m hoping Connecticut will have a better showing over the next week or two as our drought hasn’t been quite as bad.

One of the best views we saw visiting Vermont this year was from the cow pasture at the Vonn Trapp Family Lodge. Stowe had some of the best fall color of the towns we visited. Many others had already lost their leaves.

Surrounded by the sheer cliffs of Mount Pisgah and Mount Hor, Lake Willoughby is one of the most beautiful places in Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom. Steam boats operated to bring tourists around the lake as early as 1884!
