Great News for Cheyenne and Wyoming!
Earlier this week, the PRCA Board of Directors and the ProRodeo Hall of Fame Trustees held a joint meeting to review the next step with Cheyenne LEADS and voted in favor of moving forward.
This step follows the January signing of a non-binding memorandum of understanding to explore relocating the PRCA offices and the ProRodeo Hall of Fame and Museum of the American Cowboy to Cheyenne, Wyo.
This morning, Cheyenne LEADS, the PRCA Board of Directors and the Hall of Fame Trustees formalized the partnership with the signing of a Development Agreement between the parties on the project. The target for completion is still early 2029 and additional timeline details are being formed.
"As the PRCA celebrates our 90th year as the premier sanctioning body in Western sports, this is an exciting evolution that will give our membership the best chance at success for the next 50 years," PRCA CEO Tom Glause said.
Over the last three months, the Wyoming State Legislature, Cheyenne City Officials and Cheyenne LEADS have continued to codify funding for the project. The Wyoming legislative approval allowed the parties to move into the next phase of discussions.
In addition, this milestone allows project partners to begin pursuing additional fundraising efforts to support the overall development of the Hitching Post District.
