New hammer
I just got this stiletto 14 oz framing hammer with a smooth face and fiberglass handle. I mostly do concrete/form work so I figured the poly handle would be better than the hickory. I haven’t seen any reviews on YT or the sort and was wondering if anyone had experience with this model and if it’s held up. I’ve had 2 hickory handled stilettos in the past and never broken a handle. On one, the magnet for the nail set went to Narnia and the other hammer walked off the job site

Pressure Treated for Shelter
Quick question. I'm building an 12 x 8 shelter. The front will be open to the elements but may use a tarp over the opening for rainy days. This is a place for me to just sit and possibly camp to just get outside on the back of my property.

I've built the floor and used 3/4 pressure treated plywood from Lowe's. To save on cost and to further help with it being somewhat exposed to the elements I thought about framing the walls with treated 2x4s.

I also plan to have a very small wood stove for heat and cooking.

Question is health concerns from the treated wood. Will have at least a 6x7 foot opening in the front unless a tarp is used like I mentioned.

Nails popping out on Hardie Siding
I have several nails popping out on my hardie siding and I don't think the proper nails were used. The nail heads are rusted and should have been galvanized or stainless, from what I read. Should I pull the nail and replace? Which type of nail should I use? Should I hammer the nail head slightly below the surface of the hardie board and fill with wood fill or caulk?

Wonky railing design
I’m replacing this railing and I’d like to improve the functionality of this setup. Looking for some guidance!

1 - I’m considering moving the level railing at the top that is adjacent to the stairs back and eliminating the newel post at the balcony

2 - running the pitched stair railing into the newel on the balcony and a level section from the balcony newel to the top of the stair newel

I don’t really like either option.

The new material is a continuous square newel post with wrought iron balusters.

Appreciate any helpful tips!

HELP! I removed peel and stick wallpaper off my apartment wall and now it looks like this.
I still need to remove the rest of the wallpaper at the top, but please help me. I’m 26F and have no clue what I’m doing and can’t pay someone $500+ to get this fixed. There’s lots of leftover paint chips on the wall so I’m worried about repainting straight over it. Will sanding a bit and adding a primer work to smooth this out? 😭

EDIT: Y'all, I realized there was lots of confusion here. The wall was painted before and my roommate and I put up the wallpaper ourselves. The issue was that when we took the wallpaper off, it ripped off all the paint. Will share another update once we fix this!

Same vendor, same finish, made sure the paint was well mixed. Only thing I can think of is that I bought the paint on separate days. How can I prevent this from happening again

I hired a guy and his crew (highly recommended) and I’m worried

I know it’s just the first coat but a ton of the sanding and prep work is highly visible, there’s some bubbling which they marked to fix, and when I asked him if it was matte or eggshell he said…… Satin…

I thought it was a pretty standard thing to paint matte on exterior? Now it’s going to be glossier and imperfections will be even more noticeable

Am I overreacting? I need to know if I should talk to them before they do the second coat, or just trust the process.

TLDR:

Visible scratches and indents after first coat of housepaint… normal or?

I’m aware of the caulking, spraying application, bonding primer, Advanced Satin or Emerald. All going white. Curious on your opinion on pricing. $3500 is my thinking. Ohio.
