Cain Velasquez—former UFC Heavyweight Champion. A father. A man. Sentenced to five years in prison this week… for attempted murder. Shot at a man that allegedly molested his son, not once. Multiple times!!

Now, I ain’t here to talk legalese. I ain’t a lawyer. I’m a father. I’m a man with a heart. And pray i never know what that kind of rage feels like. I Can only imaginee, lookin in your kid’s eyes and realize the system that’s supposed to protect ‘em… failed ‘em. That you have to be the justice.

Cain chased that man down. Didn’t hit him, ended up shooting the man’s stepfather. Still—five years. Five years for doing what damn near any parent would think about doing.

But that’s the thing, right? We think about it. Cain did it.

Is that justice? Or is that a father saying: “If y’all won’t protect my child, I will. Period.”

I ain’t saying it was right. But I understand it.

And it’s crazy—how the person who hurt the child? was released on supervised own recognizance with GPS monitoring after being arrested on felony child molestation charges. But the man who loved that child enough to risk everything? Locked away.

This world got the values flipped upside down.

So yeah, free Cain Velasquez. Not ‘cause he’s a fighter, not ‘cause he’s famous… but ‘cause he’s a father. And the system failed him, too!
