REMINDER for Mokena's 4th of July Parade:

*July 3rd:
~No personal items are allowed to be put out on the parade route before 2pm or they may be confiscated.

* July 4th:
~6:45am - Wolf Road will be closed between La Porte Road and Front Street
~8:00am - La Porte Road will be closed between Wolf Road and Schoolhouse
~9:15am - Wolf Road will be closed between Front Street and 191st Street
~1:00pm - All streets should be opened back up for normal operations

Saturday morning, June 21st, Mokena showed up and filled those shred bins! 📄🗂️ Huge thanks to Mayor George Metanias, Will County Board Member Jim Richmond, and our newest Illinois State Representative, State Representative Patrick Sheehan, for teaming up with Shark Shredding to offer this free and much-needed service.

I had a chance to chat with all three gentlemen — it’s always great to see our local leaders out making things happen.

More community events are on the horizon! So, keep setting aside your sensitive papers, old eyeglasses (for the Mokena Lions Club 👓🦁), and worn American flags (for respectful retirement by the Mokena VFW 🇺🇸).
