Panocha.Zine is a publication and podcast by badass brown womyn that create safe spaces for brave femmes to share stories and heal in community. I’m grateful to have found them and to receive an invitation to share my job loss story. As some of you may know, I was fired from a non for profit that could have easily uplifted me with all the resources they had. Instead when I could barely walk, they called me to pick up some stuff left over at their office. I asked for food from their pantry and they had me fill out a form as some of the staff very quietly shared words of support because they understood it was inhumane and just plain f**ked up to be fired for being sick.
I hope that by sharing my story others are encouraged to share their truth because that is how we begin to love and take care of each other. As I continue to heal in all the ways (butt included), I am thankful everyday for my body, my mental health, my loved ones, fam and chosen fam, my house, my kitty baby cutie cats and most of all for mama Tierra for allowing me to be here to experience this and share my story.
