In working with Scarlett and Martin to create episode 10, we struggled to find a term to describe their initial connection. "Friend' didn't seem to quite capture it. And then we realized they had been "close acquaintances". We all have them - people who are in our orbit, sometimes for years or even decades but, for whatever reason we never REALLY get to know them despite having admiration, proximity or even affection for them. Episode 10 is about more than a set-up. It's about recasting the people in our lives with whom we may have crossed paths without ever really getting to know them.
