WHPK is a non-profit community radio station of the University of Chicago, broadcasting to Hyde Park and the South Side of Chicago for over 60 years. WHPK is dedicated to playing music not commonly heard on mainstream radio. Our programming consists of a wide variety of music for equally diverse listening audience. Such broad appeal is evident from the many formats we offer. These include: Rock, J

azz, Classical, International, Hip-Hop, and Folk, as well as specialty shows shows featuring avant-garde, Blues, dance music, and live in-studio performances. WHPK is not only dedicated to music. It has an equally renowned Public Affairs Format where community concerns are voiced and where interviews with local politicians and other public figures can be heard. 6PM THIS FRIDAY 5/30 PURE HYPE LIVE STREAM WITH

WHPK is thrilled to host international techno heavyweight, Midwest legend, and Berghain regular Kyle Geiger for a pounding techno set live from the record room. He’s touching down one night early before his appearance (on 5/31), so be sure to tune in. Both audio and video of the set will be live streamed, followed by an interview (audio only).

You can watch Kyle play live on our Youtube channel (link in bio), or listen in at our website/FM radio. Don’t forget to catch him this Saturday for their final event, where he will be playing an extended set.
