Harold came to BKP as an intern with a choice to make:

Buy a PlayStation or buy a camera.

He chose the camera.

Now he’s graduated from the University of Illinois Springfield with a College Honors Degree in Computer Science, launched his own video production company, served his college through media, and landed his first client with a statewide nonprofit organization.

He’s raising support to purchase equipment and keep growing as a storyteller.

I’m a documentary filmmaker from the South Side of Chicago, and my team of Black filmmakers and creatives at BKP Productions is looking for the right documentary film project on the continent of Africa.

In December 2023, I traveled to Cape Town, South Africa by myself. That experience expanded my vision...not just for storytelling, but for what it could look like to take my team beyond the U.S. to document stories that deserve to be preserved, honored, and shared globally.

Now, I’m excited to create that opportunity for my team.

We’re looking to partner with organizations, nonprofits, foundations, cultural institutions, ministries, businesses, or community leaders who are doing meaningful work across the African continent and need a documentary team that understands story, culture, purpose, and impact.

I started like a lot of creatives in Chicago…

Shooting music videos, learning on YouTube University, and just figuring it out as I went...

But the vision kept growing.

From videographer to filmmaker.
From filmmaker to director.
From director to producer.

And now BKP Productions is growing into a storytelling company focused on purpose, legacy, and impact.

Grateful for the growth. Grateful for the team. Grateful for the stories we get to tell.

A lot of people have real gifts… but no roadmap for turning those gifts into income online.

They know how to serve.
They know how to help people.

But honestly… the best part wasn’t how busy we were.

It was looking around and seeing:
• young filmmakers learning in real time
• friends becoming collaborators
• stories being told in OUR community
• Black creatives building together on the South Side of Chicago

That’s the part people don’t always see behind the cameras.

At BKP, we’re not just creating content. We’re preserving stories, building pathways, and showing the next generation what’s possible through digital storytelling.

Women in the trades deserve to feel safe, respected, and valued...not silenced.

This project highlights a reality that often goes unseen: harassment, intimidation, and unequal treatment experienced by women working in skilled trades. These stories aren’t rare… they’re just rarely talked about.

As digital storytellers, we have a responsibility to use media to bring truth to light and create space for conversations that lead to change.

Grateful to collaborate with organizations like CWIT who are committed to supporting, protecting, and uplifting women in construction and the trades.
