My experience of mystery novel writing has been the inspiration for the nickname of this page, "Writing about Murder is Murder." Kevin Murphy is a freelance writer, webmaster, and videographer whose more than 1500 articles – on subjects such as computers; education; environment; health issues; regional and military history; technology; theatre, training design, and travel – have been published in
journal, newspaper, magazine and internet venues. To date, he has written two mystery novels, "Degrees of Murder," and "Out of Order," each of which has received highly favorable reviews after publication; the play, "Unfriendly Fire," and the award-winning screenplay, "Something Bright and Alien." As a webmaster, he has created and various websites, include the writing website, "Murder and Writing;" and the Southeast Chicago Community Events website. As a videographer, he has thus far recorded, edited, and posted more than 130 videos on YouTube (at , most dealing with community environmental activity. He has designed and implemented operator-training simulations for computer-based service-delivering networks, video-, and hands-on simulations for military and NASA electronics workers, and simulations for teachers working in public and parochial school systems. He has taught courses in conference leadership; education; group dynamics and interpersonal communication; interviewing and counseling for managers; and sociology. He has served as organizational development consultant for client corporations and institutions, both domestically and abroad. In the military, and in industry, he has investigated various incidents involving government security violations, Line-of-Duty investigations, suspected break-ins, and theft.
