We had such an amazing time at Visit Hawthorn's Day of Play yesterday!!

The ArtCraft Nook - along with many other amazing local businesses - had stations set up in the mall where kids were able to experience fun activities, all included in one low ticket price of $10 per 2 kids!!

At the The ArtCraft Nook's station, the kids painted and decorated mini flower pots. I also had the option to make DIY pinwheels that they could also decorate, and some coloring sheets.

My own kids also attended and had so much fun visiting all the other vendors! There was open play time at Timeout Party & Play, a Marble Pour experience at Tuft A Rug Workshop, animal rides at Zoom Zone Animal Rides, face painting with The Painted Penguin - Vernon Hills, and delicious lemonade and snacks at Sophia's Lemonade.

Visit Hawthorn's Day of Play was a HUGE success, and I can't wait for the next event they have!!

A couple of weeks ago I found myself in St. Charles needing to fill up 3 hours of my time. Luckily, I came across this super cute Bookstore and Cafe!

Town House Books is an independent bookstore housed in a very charming shop, located in historic downtown St Charles, and filled wall-to-wall with books! The ambiance carries over next door to the attached cafe, that has a full menu of soups, sandwiches, and salads.

I enjoyed the beautiful day sitting outside, eating a delicious egg salad sandwich, and getting some work done!

My daughter celebrated her 9th birthday at Ma & Pa's Candy in Long Grove, and she had the best time with her friends!

The sugar-filled party included chocolate dipping and decorating their to-go boxes. But Ma & Pa's Candy has so many other party packages and add-ons to choose from as well, such as making candy bars, playing candy games, spinning cotton candy, and so much more! We actually added on a candy buffet, which was a great party favor for the kids!

Ma & Pa's Candy also do monthly Adults and Kids classes. Oh, and don't forget that this is all connected to the vintage candy shop that sells nostalgic and hard-to-find candies!

**The Candy Cake shown in my post is actually my own creation, but I'm sure Ma & Pa's Candy can make one for you as an add-on!** ;)

How is my 1st born, only baby girl 9 years old?? 💙💚🩷

Wishing my favorite girl and best friend a very happy birthday today!!! With camp, work, and a swim meet, we will fit in a celebratory bday dinner later this evening, but this weekend will be reserved for a mommy & me (and brother who wants to join us) mani/pedi, clothes shopping, and then her birthday party with friends! 🥳

I can't wait to celebrate her much deserved day!
