Are you actually resting well? Or are you just disengaging?

As summer begins, it can be easy to treat more space, freedom, or a change in routine as a reason to drift. But rest was never meant to pull our hearts away from God.

Episode 299 explores the difference between true Sabbath rest and simply checking out. Vacation, weekends, and slower seasons aren’t a break from prayer, charity, or relationship with Jesus. They’re an invitation to encounter Him in a new way through intentionality, joy, good recreation, and real renewal.

What would it look like to stay grounded this summer? To keep prayer at the center, stay connected to others, choose wholesome fun, and keep choosing love each day?

"Win summer" by resting with Jesus and letting Him renew what matters most.

Pope Leo dropped his first encyclical.

Need a quick explanation of what an encyclical actually is?

Fr. Tim’s answer: Spotify Wrapped for the world.

One of Fr. Tim's favorite ways to reflect on the Trinity is through Rublev's famous icon of the Trinity.

In the image, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are depicted as angelic figures.

The Holy Spirit is clothed in green, a symbol of life.

The Father wears a translucent, ethereal garment, reflecting the mystery of the Father.

At the center is Jesus, clothed in deep red and earthy tones, signifying blood, earthiness, and the mystery of the Incarnation.

No image can perfectly capture the Trinity, but this icon offers a beautiful way to contemplate the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit prepares us with his grace to draw us to Christ. He manifests the risen Lord to us, opening our minds. He makes present the mystery of Christ. He reconciles us, bringing us into communion with God. And he interiorly perfects our spirit, communicating to it a new dynamism so that it refrains from evil for love.
Magnificat Reflection

Come, Holy Spirit, fill our hearts! Kindle in us, the fire of your love.

Blessed Pentecost!

05/23/2026

On Pentecost Sunday, Jesus sends out the apostles to light the whole world on fire with him; he sends us out to proclaim the Gospel.

So, either one of two things are true:
1️⃣ Either you are talking about Jesus in your life
2️⃣ Or you are not talking about Jesus in your life

Let's hope it's the first one.

In the Gospel, Jesus did not say, as the Father sent me, so I send you, PRIESTS ONLY.
He sends you AND me.

So beloved Christian who's watching this, time to stop not talking about Jesus and start talking about Jesus.

Why weren’t the pagan gods attractive to early Christians?

For the early Christians, the pagan gods like Hercules, Zeus, Aphrodite, and Ares were not relatable and they were not attractive because they were seen as flawless and perfect.

Instead, Christians were drawn to the heroes of the Old Testament and the saints.
People who were weak and flawed, but who kept seeing God as God and never stopped saying yes to Him.

Have you ever felt like your sin says more about you than God’s mercy does?

What do you do when shame becomes louder than the voice of God?

It can be easy to let sin become the thing that defines us.
We can get trapped in cycles of shame, discouragement, anxiety, and self-condemnation, even while sincerely trying to follow Jesus.

We're not pretending sin doesn’t matter, but learning how Jesus actually looks at us in our weakness.

Because Jesus does not reduce you to your worst moments.
He meets you there with mercy, patience, and love that calls you deeper into freedom.

If you’ve ever felt spiritually stuck, trapped in shame, or exhausted by constantly focusing on your failures this episode is for you.

Since we had Fr. Tim in the studio recently we had to ask him if it’s true that once the consecration starts during the Mass it has to be completed, no matter what is happening around the priest.

What does an adulterer, a liar, a murderer, and a person possessed all have in common?

God used these people and built salvation history through them:

You have David, who was a murderer and an adulterer
You have Moses, who was a murderer.
You have Abraham, who was a doubter
You have St. Peter, who was a denier
You have Mary Magdalene, who was possessed by seven demons

Yet God built salvation history through them, not because of their sins, not because of their weaknesses, not because of their failures, because they had faith.
And they let God be God.

God only has flawed instruments to work with, and he works with and through you to build salvation history and to make you into a saint that you're called to be.

All of the saints have flaws, and they remain faithful in Jesus Christ in the midst of their weaknesses.

The Ascension of Jesus into heaven acquaints us with this deeply consoling reality on our journey: in Christ, true God and true man, our humanity was taken to God.
Christ opened the path to us. If we entrust our life to him, if we let ourselves be guided by him, we are certain to be in safe hands, in the hands of our Savior.
