Remembering the
Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on his Birthday, January 15, 1929. 💜

As a child growing up on the Westside in the 60s, I remember Dr. King’s visits to Chicago. My most vivid memory of the civil rights protests was all hell breaking loose after Dr. King was murdered. We had military occupation with tanks and soldiers posted in the middle of the street right in front of our apartment building.
