Explanation: On December 2, 2023, a man was changing a flat tire on the side of the road near his aunt's house in Reform, Alabama when an officer pulled up and demanded identification despite there being no traffic violation. He questioned why his ID was needed and the situation escalated quickly. The officer tased him, handcuffed him and tased him again while he was already in cuffs screaming in pain. She was heard asking "you want it again" while he sobbed and after putting him in the back of the car she told the camera "we are going to enjoy watching this video back." His teenage brother who was present recorded the whole thing and the video went viral. He was charged with fentanyl trafficking, obstructing governmental operations and resisting arrest. Lab tests later proved the substance was not an illegal drug and all charges were eventually dismissed. His attorneys allege the drugs were planted. The officer was placed on unpaid leave. No criminal charges have been filed against her despite investigations by both the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency and the FBI. A 20 million dollar federal civil rights lawsuit was filed against the officer, her husband who was also a deputy at the scene, and the city of Reform. The case remains active in federal court as of June 2026 with no verdict yet.

Explanation: A routine traffic stop in Little Rock, Arkansas turned into a senator getting handcuffed on his own property. it started when his daughter was reported for driving erratically and got pulled over, cited for reckless driving, failure to yield and driving on a suspended license. the officer decided to tow her car even though it was parked on her fathers business lot. when the father, a former Arkansas state senator, went to grab his daughters purse and medicine before the tow, officers told him to back up and said they needed to search the car first calling it a standard inventory search. he argued it was his own property and things escalated fast, he ended up in handcuffs. he called the mayor directly and within minutes the police chief got on a recorded call giving a direct order to release him immediately and leave the car with him. once that order came down the officers explanations of what happened started shifting, including new claims about the daughter facing serious charges that were never mentioned earlier. he was never charged. his daughter later pled guilty only to the suspended license charge, the other two charges were dropped.
