Well, that's it now, What About Rural Health?™ is a registered LLC based in Chicago, Illinois. It began as an effort to get rural health discussed on the global stage, using our podcast, publications, and the stories that we have shared.

We now have the organizational structure in place so that we can increase our media exposure, carry out knowledge translation, and offer consulting services. Since rural health is a part of global health, we're only at the beginning of our journey.

Innovation should go where the gaps are, not just where the money already is.

But what does real innovation look like for rural health?

It can mean working within national health systems, listening to communities and making information easier to access.

It can also mean using AI to help people reach care, rather than trying to replace the people who provide it.

The real question is whether we are building solutions with rural communities or simply building around them.

Today at ICCP 2026 in Lagos ICCP LAGOS, we presented our roundtable discussion on “From Source to Shore: How Community Psychology Can Advance Rural Health Equity.”

We explored what it means to start with the community, listen to their challenges, involve them in shaping solutions, and make sure what we learn can lead to action.
