You almost made it to 16, buddy. Almost got your driver’s license. This video made me laugh… and cry today. It was from almost 4 years ago. Ravi and our daughter, Scarlett. Two of the most talkative people I know. Always wanting snacks. Sometimes syncing their voices. I miss his meow even more than I thought I would. No, that’s a lie. I knew I’d miss that meow and I soaked them in as best as I could this year. Cat Dad and I talked about his meow often. We knew in our heart of hearts that we were on borrowed time with him. Ravi was Ravi almost until the end. Meows and all.
Ravi was sick when he came to us back in 2020. He was 10 years old. It took a lot of tests to figure out he had small cell GI lymphoma. We didn’t know if we’d have a year or 5. We had 5 years and 8 amazing months. I’d do anything to see him hop up on the counter and demand snacks. Thankfully I have memorized his meow and replay it often in my mind. Happy birthday, cheese boy! Our cheddar and butter are a little lonely these days but I’m sure you’re enjoying some delicious dairy items, wherever you are. 🐆
