A television set is brought to the residence of Henry Jordan in Sausalito. The television activates and starts playing a zombie movie, continuing to do so even after Henry turns it off and unplugs it. Zombies then emerge from the screen to attack and kill Henry. Later on, the Blair family moves into the same house. The teenage siblings, Zoe and Jeff, arrive before their parents to start unpacking. Jeff discovers the television and turns it on, soon encountering ghostly apparitions. They receive a visit from Joshua Daniels, a Texan paranormal expert, who warns them that the television is an occult portal. Unfortunately, it is too late, and zombies burst forth, beginning to wreak havoc in the neighborhood.

Jonas Taylor (Jason Statham) and oceanographer Jiuming (Wu Jing) embark on a deep-sea exploration using cutting-edge exo-dive suits. During their journey, the team discovers a large, illegal underwater mining facility. This operation is wreaking havoc on the delicate ecosystem of the trench and leading to structural failures. Explosions damage their submarines, leaving the team stranded on the ocean floor. Their only hope for survival is to traverse the pressure-laden ocean floor to reach the mining station and access its escape pods. As they make their escape, they accidentally pe*****te a thermal layer in the ocean, releasing several Megalodons, a colossal octopus (the Kraken), and hordes of prehistoric amphibious lizards into the upper ocean.
