Are we really approaching the last week in January, how you begin doing?

is it time to look back at what you thought this year was going to be about, the goals you set and if you’re still working on those goals?

The answer is No!!

Don’t look back to Jan 1st 2026.

Look further than that, look at your pattern and what you do each year to see what works when you produce amazing results and what doesn’t…and take it from there .

We can get swept up in new year resolutions which doesn’t really answer these questions

- what do i really want that is life giving? ( we only get to do this life once)
- What do I want that is a self expression?
- If I had a practice that brings me joy what would that be?
- If this year was my last year how would I spend it?
- If my work life and my passion collide what would I be doing?
- What are the 4 things that I love and absolutely want in my life
- How do I begin going after the above ?

And this is the look back question…
- What do I know about myself( my patterns) that gets in the way of me producing the results I want in my life?

If you do the work to answer these questions now verses in the throws of a new calendar year you are more likely to have meaningful answers for yourself this year.

That’s what I’m doing …

This is such sad news . You have given us so much joy for so long. You are queen of Neo Soul . May you RIP.

Can we take a moment this morning for the parents in the US who are going to send their children to school today, before they go to work .

Holding back the tears so as not to worry or scare their little/big ones, hugging them a little tighter, praying that they are safe and that the intruder drills that our children endure every year will not need to be utilized on this day.

My heart is breaking for the families in Georgia and all the families that have had to shoulder the huge loss and burden of the absolute lack of responsibility that continues to be taken when it comes to guns in the US.

We ( Parents) are not ok today and in fact it is always there in the background it is just moved to the foreground once again to figural position. Pulling on our hearts and holding onto hope that this will be the last time. But unfortunately not believing it.

Team members, staff, leaders are Mothers and Fathers and lest we forget we will act like it’s business as usual. It is not.

CALLING MY HIGH POWERED WOMEN
My Women, this message is for you!
-
Over the last 30 plus years, I've led thousands of rooms and trained tens of thousands of leaders, executives and business professionals around the world on how to create the outcomes they truly want in every area of their personal and professional lives.
-
DEFINING YOUR NEXT ACT
One of my greatest joys is supporting highly accomplished women who, by all accounts, already "have it all" to boldly push through the fear and uncertainty of letting go of their current "identity," to identify and step into their "next act," in whatever ways are most authentic for them in this chapter of their lives.
-
I'M TESTING SOMETHING NEW
As part of my year long in-person Brilliant Woman Mastermind, I'm currently testing out the online delivery of one aspect of a foundational workshop rooted in principles I've been training women inside of from the front of the room for decades.
-
INTIMATE SMALL GROUP BREAKTHROUGH SESSIONS
The workshop is approximately 60 mins, and I want to deliver it a few times to get real-time feedback and make slight tweaks before I finalize it.
-
ONLY HOSTING A FEW SESSIONS
If you're interested in going through one of these intimate small group sessions with me, my promise is you will leave with powerful insights in key aspects of your life, AND clear pathways to take action on those insights right away.
-
I'm hosting a handful of these live breakthrough sessions over the next few weeks.
-
IT'S FREE, JUST GIVE ME YOUR FEEDBACK
They're free - the only fee is your promise to offer your unfiltered feedback, and a testimonial if you feel inclined.

It’s not just about doing more!

As a coach working with my clients over the years a question I am often asked is ‘ what can I DO to be a better… leader manager entrepreneur?’

In my experience the most powerful pathway is to NOT-focus initially on what you are doing.

The key to progress isn’t just about doing more or working harder—it’s about delving into the core of who you are and what you’re bringing to the table.

It’s about embracing the “Be, Do, Have” paradigm.

Firstly, focusing on “Being” involves cultivating the right mindset and inner qualities. It’s about embodying the values, confidence, and authenticity that align with your goals. This might mean developing resilience, fostering a growth mindset, or practicing self-compassion.

Then there’s”Doing.” Once you’ve clarified who you’re being, you can take intentional action.

This action is purposeful , intentional and aligned with your values and aspirations. It’s about making strategic choices and executing them with determination and focus.

And Finally, “Having” is the outcomes and results you want.

By prioritizing who you’re being and what you’re doing, you set the stage for the things you want to manifest in your life—whether it’s career success, personal fulfillment, or meaningful relationships.

This the Be-Do-Have model is a reminder to all of us true transformation begins from within.

Working on ourselves—our beliefs, attitudes, and behaviors—we can unlock our full potential and create the life we envision.

If you want to move forward with something you are working on, don’t just focus on doing more; focus on who you’re BEING, because that’s where the real magic happens.

The power of convening and connecting is real.

In any program I design - whether it’s a staff retreat, the program I run for emerging leaders, or the Brilliant Women Masterminds, I deeply and passionately believe in the power of bringing people together for sense-making, meaningful reflection, and deep connections. The power of creating safe, confidential, compassionate spaces holds no bounds and infinite possibilities.

I wanted to share some heartfelt testimonials from past participants who’ve experienced the power of our spaces:

🔹 Building Lasting Connections: “Within the cohort, there’ve been so many wonderful women - some of them I had connections with prior - but most I did not. And we truly grew a sisterhood and a network and connected beyond the program.”

🔹 Creating Vulnerable and Impactful Connections: “Being exposed to people that you work with in a really vulnerable way, in an interesting way, and in a unique way where you’re going through a journey that you wouldn’t necessarily go through, I think is an incredibly impactful way to build community within a professional space.”

🔹 Personal Growth: “What I loved about this program was that I was able to examine my life and discover what things were positive and what things needed to change, and then take the necessary steps to bring that change.”

🔹 Sharing with Others: “I was a bit nervous at first coming into the group setting. I wasn’t sure how comfortable I would feel to share beyond a one-on-one situation, but it ended up being a blossoming of information and things that we shared, all in such an effortless way.”

I am filled with so much gratitude when I read these. It affirms why I do what I do and it motivates me to continue my passion of uplifting leaders, women, teams, and organizations.

I hope to have the opportunity to partner with those in my LinkedIn community - to co-create similar and new experiences with those of you I’ve worked with before and those I have yet to work with.

“Tell me,
what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?” — Mary Oliver, The Summer Day

11 years ago we left the UK and moved to the US - I have lost count of the number of times someone has asked us why - [sidenote: it was not our work that brought us here].

My answer is an adventure - we had a great life in London and we could of kept doing what were were doing for the next 20 years or instead shake it up, go on an adventure and see where it takes us. Looking back it took a lot of courage for us to leave behind a life we had spent years building.

That moment in our life was answering this Mary Oliver question “Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?”

* When you look at your life right now - however good it is and where you’ve got to - is it where you want to be ?
* Are you having the experiences you want to have?
* Are you growing at the pace that you want to grow?
* And if you had no restrictions would you be living the life you are now?
* Are you in the career you want to be in?
* What if you brought the excitement of a child to ask the question of what is next for you, what would you answer?

We do not have to wait for something being wrong before we make a change we can do that at any time - in fact changing from a place of strength is a great way to make strides forward.

When I’m coaching my clients in a transition one of my questions is “ Are you moving toward something or moving away from something?”

Mary Oliver gently nudges us to contemplate the exquisite tapestry of our existence and the boundless potential that resides within each moment.

With every dawn, we are gifted a canvas upon which to paint the masterpiece of our lives. It’s a canvas woven with threads of dreams, aspirations, and the whisperings of our deepest desires.

So, dear friend, let us not squander this precious gift but instead embrace it with unwavering courage and unbridled passion.

Consider If you embrace the wild and precious adventure that is life, knowing that each step we take brings us closer to our most authentic selves. What is the step that you will take?

Celebrating the brilliance of women ✨ From the boardroom to the classroom, women illuminate the world with their intelligence, creativity, and resilience. 🌟

It’s in their ability to juggle multiple roles with grace, challenge norms, and uplift others that their brilliance truly shines. 💫 Let’s honor and amplify the voices, contributions, and achievements of women everywhere.

Women’s brilliance shines brightest when they embrace their authenticity, fearlessly expressing their ideas, passions, and perspectives. It’s in their willingness to challenge the status quo, disrupt norms, and pave new paths forward.

But perhaps the most beautiful aspect of women’s brilliance is its capacity to uplift others. Women empower each other through mentorship, support, and solidarity, creating a ripple effect of inspiration and empowerment that extends far beyond individual accomplishments.

reflect on what “Be Brilliant Together” means to you:

1. How can I embrace my uniqueness and share my gifts with others in my community?
2. What challenges am I facing that could benefit from the collective wisdom and support of other women?
3. In what ways can I redefine success on my own terms and break free from external standards or expectations?

Together, we can create a more vibrant and equitable world. 💖

I CAME FROM A WOMAN

She was no ordinary woman - she was my Mother

She was born with little economic wealth in the carribbean, and rich in so many ways - she taught me about kindness, love, respect and holding a generous spirit. She gave so much and did not ask for enough

She was no ordinary woman - she was my Mother

She raised four amazing children and 7 grandchildren

She took courageous actions and created such a foundation for her children that gave us the confidence to take risks, branch out , be the first generation to go to college and to boldly move countries in pursuit of a dream.

She was no ordinary woman - she was my Mother

I am my mother’s daughter , artistic and creative, for hose of you who know me - my stylish flare is from my mother - in another dimension she would have been known as a fashion designer - that opportunity was not afforded to her .
She was no ordinary woman - she was my Mother

She is no longer with me having passed away in 2018 from brain cancer - she has embed in me a passion for life a commitment to live fully and to continue to make her proud. Without her there is no Shirley.

A strong and faithful woman who cared about people and always had her attention on making a difference to the people in her life.

She was no ordinary woman - she was my Mother

So I am honoring my Mother today on International Women’s Day - It is because of her that I am privileged to enjoy the hard fought freedom and the life of joy.

Maya Angelou once said, “To describe my mother would be to write about a hurricane in its perfect power.”

On the shoulders of our Mothers - we still rise together.

Let’s start with looking to our mothers, sisters, wives, aunties, friends & be inspired.

I see you all.

Happy International Women’s Day.
