Fakeaway

• Chicken or tofu
• Bread crumbs
• Eggs
• Flour
• Seasoning (e.g., salt, pepper, paprika)
• Vegetable oil for frying
• Dipping sauce (e.g., sweet and sour sauce)

1. Start by preheating some oil in a frying pan over medium heat. You want it hot enough for frying without burning.
2. Set up your breading station! Place flour in one bowl, beaten eggs in another, and pile up those crispy bread crumbs in a third bowl.
3. Take your chicken or tofu and season it generously with salt, pepper, and a sprinkle of paprika to add some nice flavor.
4. Now it’s time to coat! Dip your seasoned chicken or tofu into the flour first, making sure it’s fully covered. Then, dunk it into the egg, letting any excess drip off, and finally roll it in the bread crumbs until it’s nicely coated.
5. Carefully place the coated chicken or tofu into the hot oil and fry until it’s golden brown and cooked through—about 5-7 minutes should do the trick!
6. Serve your crispy creation with your favorite dipping sauce, like sweet and sour sauce, and enjoy your homemade fakeaway!

Double Egg and Chips

Ingredients:
• 2 eggs
• 4 medium potatoes
• Salt
• Pepper
• Oil for frying

Directions:
1. Start by peeling the potatoes and slicing them into thick chips. Give them a rinse under cold water to remove excess starch, then pat them dry with a kitchen towel.
2. In a frying pan, heat up some oil over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, carefully add the chips and fry them until they’re golden and crispy. This should take about 10-15 minutes. Once they’re done, remove them from the oil and let them drain on paper towels to soak up any excess oil.
3. Using the same pan (with a little extra oil if needed), crack in the eggs and fry them to your liking—whether you prefer them sunny-side up or over-easy, it’s up to you! Don’t forget to season with a pinch of salt and pepper.
4. Now, it’s time to serve! Place the fried eggs right on top of the crispy chips and enjoy your deliciously satisfying meal.

Homemade Beef Stew

Ingredients:
• 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
• 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
• 2 lb. chuck pot roast, trimmed and cut into 3/4” pieces
• 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
• 3 cups vegetable juice (such as V8)
• 3 cups beef broth
• 2 medium onions, cut into thin wedges
• 1 cup thinly sliced celery
• 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
• 1 teaspoon dried thyme
• 1 bay leaf
• 4 red potatoes, cut into 1-inch cubes
• 4 carrots, peeled and cut into 1/4-inch slices on a bias
• 1 1/2 cups frozen peas

Directions:
1. In a large resealable plastic bag, mix the flour and black pepper together. Toss in the beef pieces, seal the bag, and shake it up until the beef is thoroughly coated in the flour mixture.
2. Heat half of the vegetable oil in a 5 to 6 quart Dutch oven or heavy pot over medium-high heat. Add half of the coated beef and brown it on all sides. Once browned, take it out and set it aside on a plate. Repeat the process with the remaining beef, adding more oil if needed.
3. With all the beef back in the pot, stir in the vegetable juice, beef broth, onions, celery, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, and the bay leaf. Bring this delicious mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat, cover it, and let it simmer for about an hour.
4. After an hour has passed, toss in the potatoes and carrots. Bring the stew back to a boil, then reduce the heat again, cover it, and cook for another 30 to 40 minutes, or until the veggies are fork-tender.
5. Finally, stir in the frozen peas and cook until they’re heated through. Before serving, don’t forget to remove that bay leaf! Enjoy your warm, comforting bowl of homemade beef stew.
