Want to tell your story on the radio?
Here's the new list of themes and show dates for upcoming episodes of Stories From Graceland Pond.
I'm soliciting story contributors for my radio show, and hoping to hear from you about stories you might have (or write) for these show episodes.
We're looking for 9 minutes or less of true stories that loosely match the theme.
Stories From Graceland Pond is a long-running on-air radio show and podcast, that mixes stories and related music tracks. It airs LIVE twice a month, and each of those shows replays the following week. Many of our shows are Podcast sometime after they air on Radio Harbor Country. Live streaming is on the website: www.radioharborcountry.org. The studio for WRHZ-FM is located in Sawyer, Michigan. The show time is 9 pm to 11 pm Eastern Standard Time.
Generally, storytellers are phoned live on the show and tell their story on-air. You can also record the story yourself and send me the file. If you live nearby, you can come into the studio to perform/read. Depending on the show, you can suggest a song or two to be played before or after your segment.
Here's the list of show dates and the theme for that evening:
Episode #128 July 21 "Anything Goes" Writer's Choice theme, so, your story for this episode can be anything.
Episode #129 August 4 "The Dash" Between birth and death, there's a dash. How is your dash going? Tell us a story about your process.
Episode #130 August 18 "Grandmas Hands" Grandmas are special people. Stories related to those mostly amazing ladies.
Episode #131 Sept. 1 "Biggest Laugh Ever" Ever just lose it laughing? In Church? What got it all going? Who with? Consequences?
Episode #132 Sept. 15 "I Fight Authority" These stories are about rebellions, large and small. Deeply meaningful or petty.
Episode #133 Sept. 29 "What It All Went Surreal" Sometimes it's drugs, but often not, things can just seem not-of-this-world, not normal, weird, different, hard to understand, etc.
Episode #134 Oct. 13 "How I Recovered" We all make mistakes. Some do permanent damage. Some not so much. How did you recover?
