Buen dia mi gente! When we talk about lights, camera and action there is alot to discuss when it comes down being a celebrity photographer of hard work that keeps you going and that is why I have coming on the show Carrie Cavalier to talk to us about her passion and journey! Daleeee!
***Guest Alert July 9 ***
Carrie came to California when the company her dad worked for was transferred to Santa Barbara, California, and Carrie finished High School. She was involved in school theater, choir, social clubs, she was Junior class President, participated in beauty pageants and then moved to Los Angeles to manage a retail store and pursue my acting career.
As we all know in the entertainment industry, pictures (Headshots) are a pivotal part of getting your foot in the door... as an actor or a model, even if you have your doubts or insecurities about your talent, your headshot will get you in front of a casting director. Great "Headshots" can make that difference in your career. So many actors try to cut corners by having an inexperienced friend (wanna-be photographer) or shooting with a selfie to get a headshot. Yes, and sometimes it pays off and she don't agree with going out and spending an exuberant amount of $$$ on a headshot either, do your research.
Carrie began my acting career back in the early 1980's, In the so called "Blond Era" lol. She spent hundreds of $ on headshots on a prominent photographer, but sadly there were technical problems. The headshots looked like I had black roots on my hairline and don't dye my hair!! My agent at the time, said I can't use these pictures!!!! Being a beginning working actress, She could not afford new headshots, She said to hersef I can do this!!! so she bought a camera, and shot her new headshots herself by directing a friend, about lighting and composition. Bingo!!
Carrie literally became obsessed with the photography. Converted my garage into a completely professional studio. In 1984 Everything took off! Carrei was photographing 30 to 40 people a week. In 1985, she had her California photography resale license, and purchased the home in 1986. (Attached is a full list of some of some the wonderful talent that she had the honor of photographing)
2025 is her 40th year anniversary as a professional photographer!! She is still blessed with perfect eye slight, She will be taking photos FOREVER!!!!!
She lost a client from one of my most memorable photo sessions, Michael Madsen, know for is roles in Donnie Brasco, Reservoir Dogs, Thelma & Louise & many more. Rest in Peace oxoxox
