290 traffic has been super ugly all day 💯

* Around 5:50 a.m., a vehicle rolled over on northbound Mannheim Road near the ramp to westbound I-290.
* The crash spilled oil and gravel onto the roadway.
* One person was hospitalized with minor injuries.
* The ramp from northbound Mannheim Road to westbound I-290 was closed while crews cleaned up the scene.
2. Major shutdown near Mannheim Road later in the morning
* Around 10:05 a.m., Illinois State Police responded to a fatal incident in the westbound lanes of I-290 near Mannheim Road in Westchester.
* One person was reported dead.
* Both eastbound and westbound lanes experienced significant closures, along with several ramps in the area.
* News reports indicated a bomb squad was called to the scene, though authorities had not publicly explained the exact nature of the incident at the time of reporting. Motorists were advised to avoid the area and expect extended delays.
