Happy Labor Day! 🇺🇸✨
A day to celebrate everyone who works hard to keep America moving. ❤️

The very first Labor Day was celebrated in New York City in 1882, with nearly 10,000 workers marching in the parade. It didn’t become a federal holiday until 1894.

Today, it’s more than just a day off—it’s a tribute to everyone who helped build this country.
Enjoy the long weekend, soak up the last days of summer, and take a well-earned break! 🎉😍

During the day, the Chicago River is busy and surrounded by skyscrapers. But at night, the lights reflecting on the water give the city a completely different feel 😍

And did you know the river was once reversed?

In 1900, Chicago dug a canal that was lower than Lake Michigan, allowing water to flow south by gravity. This reversed the direction of the river and helped protect the city’s drinking water supply.

If a whole river can change direction, maybe you can too. So… what’s stopping you? 😉

Where Chicago’s past and future share the exact same sky ❤️

Every time I walk around Downtown Chicago and look up, this city finds a new way to amaze me.
Look at this view, on one side, you’ve got this gorgeous early 20th century building with all its intricate stonework, and right across from it, a sleek glass tower stretching straight into the clouds.

This is what’s often called an “urban canyon” where towering skyscrapers frame the street like canyon walls, leaving only a narrow strip of blue sky above. These same “walls” also help funnel the lake breeze through certain streets, making parts of Downtown, especially around Michigan Avenue, feel even windier.

The reflections, the clouds, the blue sky, it all made the buildings feel like they were blending into the sky. Totally worth looking up.

One of my favorite things about walking through downtown Chicago? ☺️

Every few blocks, the city opens up to another postcard-worthy view. This time, it’s Sears Tower quietly rising at the end of the street.

Chicago’s grid street system creates long, unobstructed sightlines, turning even an ordinary walk into something that feels like a movie scene ❤️
