DROUGHT & SUMMER HEAT LIKELY FOR OHIO MID-SEPTEMBER-

While today we are tracking a cold front that will bring a crisp, fall-like weekend, it won't last. The latest long-range modeling suggests the heat will return by mid-September. High temperatures will climb back into the 80s by late next week and may even approach 90 degrees in southern Ohio by the 13th.

Unfortunately - there isn't much hope for any decent rainfall in that timeframe either. We do expect a line of showers and storms tonight with most of that confined to areas east of I-71 and south of I-70. Beyond Saturday, there is very little threat for rain for at least a week, maybe two weeks. This would allow the current moderate drought conditions in Ohio (currently at about 30% of the state) to perhaps rapidly expand and intensify.

Please take note that as of tomorrow morning, September 5, 2025, the northbound ramp on US 23 at Main Street in Chillicothe will be closed. The detour will take you to the exit close to the Hospital and KW, where you will exit and jump back on 23 S to Main Street.

We are personally fans of just jumping off at Three Locks close to where the old Stardust used to be. But you do you.

Make plans to support the community and see the amazing, funny, talented Lori G!

I am lucky to be involved with some cool local events in September including getting to open for country music artist Andy Griggs at Majestic Theatre Chillicothe.

The Ross County Humane Society dinner/show is almost sold out and seats for the Lori G Comedy on Terrace 27! show at The Pour House at Machinery Hall and the Farm to Fourth Dinner Fundraiser by the Mighty Children's Museum are also getting low.

September is all about community for me and I am looking forward to seeing everyone 🩵
