The discharge petition everyone’s talking about does NOT release the Epstein files - it just forces the House to vote.

The path:
1️⃣ The House must pass H.Res. 581 - the rule that allows them to vote on H.R. 185 (the actual bill)
2️⃣ If H.R. 185 passed, it goes to the Senate
3️⃣ If the Senate passes it too, it goes to Trump’s desk.
4️⃣ Then Trump can sign it, veto it, or pocket veto it (if Congress adjourns)

Only AFTER all that would the Epstein files be legally ordered for release.

So no… the petition isn’t the release itself.
It’s just step one in a very long political staircase…
