Our Cannon Films theme month continued with Rockula(1990). Well, this was something. There are some jaw dropping campy moments, particularly the musical numbers. This was very stupid and juvenile and we wondered who this movie was for. The cast was very dedicated and they did their best to elevate the material. It did have some comedic moments that worked but a lot of the humor was unintentional. There were a few good songs too. It also features one of the most awful character designs we've ever seen in the form of a squat bat person that farts. An interestingly bad film.

Our Cannon Films theme month continued with Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo(1984). What a joyful movie! The dancing really puts a smile on your face. It is just cool, man! The acting is spotty at best and the script is very juvenile but who cares because the dancing more than makes up for any shortcomings. The plot is classic 80s with the greedy, rich guys sticking it to the rag tag poor kids so it is pure nostalgia. The soundtrack is full of bangers even though some tracks are pretty silly. This movie is infamous for the title but it is so much more than that. So fun and it makes you want to boogie! ⚡🕺

This month we are covering movies from the infamous Cannon Films studio. We start off with Cobra(1986). This is like AI generated an action movie. It has all the tropes! The movie is silly and cheesy but it is a romp. There are some really well done action sequences and some memorable characters. Those make up for the almost non-existent script but there are some really interesting, quirky moments. Cobra is a bit of an a-hole too. Sylvester Stallone and Brigitte Nielsen do their best but they are average at best. This movie gets an a A for ACTION!
