Thought of the day 🦋

I was putting away my books and organizing them and I came across this little booklet that I’ve never read. So I started reading it it’s called “Managing oneself” by Peter F. Drucker. In it he talks about Eisenhower and Johnson and how they stepped into roles that didn’t aide their success one was a reader acting as a listener and one was a listener acting as a reader… I found the concept that we are either readers or listeners pretty fascinating. It really truly does break down to those two things. The education system tries to box us in when we all learn differently leading to many failures!!!! I hope we can change that as the years pass by so that we can give every child the chance to thrive and succeed… not only for that but for that to be nourished and encouraged as well.

Making biscuits with the guy! ♥️

Fluffy Biscuit Recipe
• 2 cups Organic whole wheat unbleached flour
• 4 tsp Baking Powder
• 1 TBS Organic Unbleached Sugar
• 1 tsp Sea Salt
• 1/4 Cup Melted Butter OR Olive Oil
• 3/4 Cup Milk

Pre-heat oven to 400 degreesFahrenheit. Mix all dry ingredients before adding the oil/butter and milk. For me, I used my awesome DeLonghi food processor with the dough blade and it took me all of 30 seconds to get everything mixed. Take the dough out and roll it to be about half an inch thick. Cut with biscuit or cookie cutter and place onto your cooking stone or cast iron. I prefer using my Lava cast iron grill plate because it doesn’t still and adds a little iron to our diets. Cook for 10 minutesand you’re all done.

This verse was on my mind this morning. You know it’s so easy to get caught up in the when it rains it pours mentality. When one thing goes wrong it’s easy to start focusing on all the wrong that’s happening making the things we should be grateful for tiny in comparison. I was told recently in the hard moments to thank God because there is so much to be thankful for…

It’s true and easy to forget but try not to today with this reminder 😊❤️👍! Not that I am good at it myself… just figured I would share

Running a little drill on the range on this beautiful Friday here in Texas!

The drill:
3 cone triangle set up
Back to at 20-25 yards
Front cone at 10-15 yards

Loaded Start left right or center engage target upon start signal then move to next cone engage and then move to the final cone and engage.

Goal is first shot on steel. But sometimes that doesn’t happen! 😒
