They're tired of the same questions.
Business Podcast Interview Pro Tip: Research to ask different questions or get them talking about different angles on the same thing. Here’s what I mean…
A while back I had the privilege of interviewing a guy named Caleb Ralston.
Caleb is an amazing branding expert and he was making the rounds on multiple podcast. To this day, I’m not sure why he was gracious enough to say yes to me, but he did.
Anyways, in doing my research, I listened to multiple podcast interviews that he did. I paid attention to the questions that he really came alive for and the ones he wasn’t so passionate about.
Then I made sure that I asked him slight different questions or different angles on the same things that he talks about so that some of the questions would be a bit more fresh and not just him saying the exact same thing just on a different podcast.
Now, if you get popular podcast guests, you may be getting some of the same thing because they are passionate about that thing.
But the goal here is to really try and get the guest to say, “that’s a good question…”
And ultimately, you want your audience to be able to get something different from your interview than they would from another podcast.
