This is what keeps you from putting all that energy into things that don't work.

Time is short, so don't just podcast or create content just because your marketing person says you should (but seriously, you should). ;)

Take just a bit more time to evaluate and experiment so that the bulk of the time you do put into creating that podcast will actually give you the best change of helping your audience know, like, and trust you.

How long should I do the podcast before I see results?

Fair question. The answer really is more of a statement: you need to podcast consistently for a long time while evaluating and iterating regularly before you will see meaningful results.

PS - The more infrequent you podcast, even consistently, the longer it will take to see the returns you're looking for. This is a medium of lots or reps.

Your audience makes a decision in half a second.

The episode might be dope, but if the title and thumbnail are unclear, nobody will ever find out.

For CEOs, marketers, and thought leaders using podcasting for B2B marketing...but sure your team spends time on the titles and thumbnails for each episode.

If it worked once...post it again!

It can be so easy to try to come up with something new to post each time. But here's the thing, if you posted a video once and it performed well, there's a very good chance that it would work again if you reposted it in a few months. Recycling content isn't bad because not everyone sees every reel you post.

Pro tip - same thing goes with messaging. Don't assume someone has heard it before. Say it, say it again, and repeat.

You’ve probably skipped episodes that would’ve been perfect for you… just because the title and thumbnail didn’t sell it.

On YouTube, people don’t experience your content first—they experience your packaging first. Title and thumbnail are the “pitch” for the episode you already know is good.

If you’re confident in the content but frustrated with views, don’t scrap the show. Fix the packaging, then confirm the click.

One of the biggest cheat codes in content isn’t a new tactic...it’s paying attention to your audience.

The more you publish, the more your audience tells you what’s working.

Look at watch time, response, and recurring formats…then repeat the best, forget the rest, and keep testing.

It can be easy to just talk about what we think our ICP needs to hear, but it's important that we listen, take note, and then use those conversations to shape the podcasts (and other content) that we create.

People love to argue about what counts as a “real” podcast, but that debate misses what I think is the point: connecting with your audience. Helping them to know, like, and trust you. Educating them. And being where they spend time online in as many was as possible.

If you’re a CEO, founder, or B2B marketer, focus on the format that best serves your clients and your brand.

It's important to remember: if you treat your podcast like a hobby, you can't expect business results.

It's only those who podcast consistently, post short-form consistently, and promote consistently, over a few years, that actually see results. This isn't a format that works well to "try out" or "dip your toe in the waters"...you have to commit to it and have the right systems and team to execute. But when you do, cool results can happen. :)
