It’s almost recording day. 🎙️🐾

A lot of people don’t realize that while new episodes drop every other Wednesday, the work starts long before we hit record.

Most months, Amanda and Shilo spend a few Sundays together planning episodes, recording, editing, creating content, answering messages, and somehow squeezing in plenty of girl talk along the way. Sometimes we record on Tuesdays, too, but Sundays are usually where the magic (and chaos) happens.

Sure, we’re known for dropping a few choice words. And yes, we’re usually covered in dog hair with messy buns and coffee nearby. But we’re also passionate about educating dog owners, having honest conversations, and creating content that helps people better understand their dogs.

Every episode is a mix of real life, real friendship, and real dog education—and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

Chaos Behind the Podcast 🎙️🐾

It’s Shilo’s day off… but nobody told the dogs.

Whether you’re a dog mom, cat mom, horse mom, human mom, or the person everyone depends on, you know the feeling. Your calendar might say “off,” but the responsibilities don’t magically disappear.

There are still dogs to potty, kennels to clean, meals to serve, meds to give, and a whole lot of chaos to coordinate.

The funny thing is, most of us wouldn’t have it any other way. 💁‍♀️ We complain about being needed, but we’d miss it if we weren’t.

Tag someone who understands that an “off day” just means a different kind of busy. 🐾❤️

The 4th of July is right around the corner. If your neighborhood is anything like mine, fireworks will start a couple weeks before and last a couple weeks after.

Be smart!!! Most animals are afraid of fireworks. Statistically, more animals go missing during the 4th of July than any other time of the year. This is also our busiest time of the year and your local shelters are all already running at capacity.

Please understand some animals have to take medicine just to make it through the night. Talk to your vet now if your animal is one of them. Identification needs to be on your animal’s collar and the collars need to remain on. This way if they get loose we will be able to return them or if someone else finds them they can return them. We have a pinned post at the top of our page with instructions for ordering and we will mail ID tags to you for FREE!!

Indianapolis Animal Care Services will also microchip your pet for $10. You just need to show up with proof of ownership during business hours.

Livestock can also have a very hard time with fireworks. More stall injuries happen because the animals get scared. People are also cutting hay around that time as well. Barn fires and field fires can happen very quickly.

Just remember to be smart!! I love fireworks as much as everyone else. But, that doesn’t mean it is good for everyone. Please prepare so we don’t have to find your animals later and possibly injured from running scared.

A muzzle isn’t a sign of a bad dog. It’s a sign of a responsible owner. 🐾
