As we are closer to the quiet beauty of the winter solstice, the cardinal appears like a spark of warmth against the cold. Spiritually, cardinals are seen as messengers of hope, renewal, and loved ones visiting from the other side—a reminder that light is never truly gone.

I created my Yule cards, pine wood ornaments, and plaques with this symbolism in mind. Each piece honors the cardinal’s message: connection, comfort, and the promise of brighter days returning.

If a cardinal finds you this season—whether outside your window or in art—it’s a whisper of magic, love, and guidance.

Blessed Yule. ❄️❤️

❄️✨Winter Scenes✨❄️

A quiet river. A cathedral of snow-dusted pines. A tiny bird suspended in winter fog.

These three Polaroid emulsion lift pieces capture the soft, hushed magic of winter the way film sees it — dreamlike, imperfect, and full of atmosphere.

❄️ “Snowy Red River” (2025)
Captured along the Red River in Tennessee, where the world turned pastel under falling snow.

🌲 “Snowy Maine Pines” (2022)
A towering stand of evergreens in Maine, dusted in white — as if the forest itself was exhaling.

🐦 “Dark-Eyed Junco No. 1” (2022)
A winter visitor, quiet and still, almost camouflaged by frost and mist.

All three pieces are one-of-a-kind emulsion lifts, hand-transferred onto watercolor paper, preserving the softness and texture of the moment itself. Also inscribed on the back with the exact latitude and longitude of where it was photographed — a little invitation for you to go on your own scavenger hunt.

🌲✨ Introducing: Gothic Arboreal Reverie ✨🌲

My newest unframed winter Polaroid emulsion lift collection is here — a series inspired by the stark poetry of bare trees, their branches bending and twisting into abstract art of their own.

There’s something hauntingly beautiful about winter’s skeleton forests — the high contrast, the negative space, the way each tree becomes a character. These pieces capture that quiet magic, fragile and fleeting, just like winter itself.

Each piece is inscribed on the back with the exact latitude and longitude of where it was photographed — a little invitation for you to go on your own scavenger hunt.

🖤 Available at the Downtown Artist Co-op Holiday Bazaar
📅 November 4 – December 24

One-of-a-kind. For lovers of moody nature, dark romance, and analog film art.

🌊Rhode Island Sunset — SOLD 🌅

One more from the craft fair found a new home this weekend. I took this one with my Canon 5D and converted it to a Polaroid. I captured it at C**t State Park, where the sliver of land on the horizon is Rocky Point State Park, and that shimmering body of water is the Narragansett Bay. The sky was painted in a golden-orange glow, glistening across the water like liquid light. Rhode Island is such a beautiful state with so many opportunities for a great shot — I feel lucky to have called it home for a few years.

And I’m so grateful to the kind soul who connected with this piece and chose to take it home — may its warm glow bring a little coastal magic to your space for years to come.

💜 Twilight of Amethyst — SOLD 🌅

This set will always remind me that it’s not the camera that makes the art — it’s Mother Nature and the human behind the lens. I captured this moment with my iPhone, later converting it into a Polaroid emulsion lift.

I was driving past a small pond when the sky lit up in stunning shades of amethyst, indigo, and gold. The colors reflecting off the water stopped me in my tracks — literally! I hit the brakes, turned around, and grabbed the only camera I had with me: my phone. Sometimes the most magical moments happen when you least expect them.

So grateful this piece found its way to a new home this weekend, where it’ll keep sharing that fleeting bit of sunset magic. 🌄💜

🌫️ Foggy Arboreal Reverie No. 2 — SOLD 🌿

One of my favorite pieces from this series found a new home this weekend! I captured this image on a dense, foggy morning — one of those days where the world feels hushed and otherworldly. Taken with my Canon 5D and later transformed into a Polaroid emulsion lift, this piece embodies everything I love about photographing trees in the mist.

Fog has a way of softening the world, stripping away distraction, and inviting you to focus on what’s right in front of you. On mornings like this, the bare trees reveal every beautiful curve and contour of their form — quiet, grounded, and strong.

Grateful to the kind soul who connected with this piece and will get to admire its stillness and beauty in their home for years to come. 💭🤍

🍂 Red River in Autumn — SOLD 🌾

Captured on an early November morning walk through Billy Dunlop Park, this piece holds a special place in my heart. I took the original photo with my Canon 5D and later transformed it into a Polaroid emulsion lift — a process that gives it that delicate, dreamlike quality I love. 📷✨

This quiet bend of the river is my favorite spot in the park — a place tucked away from it all, where the air feels crisp, the colors glow, and reflection comes naturally. It’s where I often begin my day, grounded in gratitude and peace.

Grateful to the sweet couple selling pottery next to me at the craft fair who took this one home to Columbia, TN. Knowing it’s with kindred creative spirits makes it even more special. 💛
