A follow-up to the PFAS meeting Onondaga County held earlier this month.
Syracuse.com reports that about 70 people attended, including government officials, researchers, consultants and industry representatives. The meeting was not open to the public, media or county legislators, and it was not recorded.
County Executive Ryan McMahon also said the county is willing to put up $1 million toward PFAS research.
From my perspective, research like this is going to be very important over the long term. Projects of this size are going to be here for decades, so continuing to improve PFAS detection, treatment and destruction technology is a big part of making sure the environmental side of these projects is handled as well as possible.
